Sounds like the EHD is really bad there " go out, gauge population and then make decision if the herd is strong enough to lose a couple animals? " You will be capable of making a informed decision with this and the previous info you have gathered, I have been very fortunate in that we have had only a couple does die from EHD on the few thousand acres I bowhunt... So Far, Thank God. Sounds like your herd has taken a severe blow to its numbers... I Pray for an early freeze for all the states affected! Our Illinois Archery season opens on Monday October 1st, but I gotta get the earn a buck doe first ... I got this beautiful doe patterened with the all white neck I have decided if i am fortunate enough to have her present a shot I will take the shot.
That is the rub Deb, I don't know that I can. Reality is it would be at best an educated guess, so I'm probably over thinking this. This weekend doesn't work out for a hunt anyway so I have some time to decide my attack. Good luck to all hunting this weekend!
Fitz just updated the scorecard were in 6th we have the highest total with out bucks looking good guys
It's fall break from school all week this week, and I've got my hunting stuff set on go! This week will be one of my biggest chances to kill a buck.(I'm saving my doe tag for later on in the season) So I'm praying the weather stays good, i'll keep yall updated on what's happening. P.S Keep up the good work team, were right where we need to be!
Well season starts tomorrow. Goodluck to those who also start tomorrow Sent from my Milestone X2 using Tapatalk 2
Well it was a dissapointing afternoon, the only thing I seen today was a coyote that came in right behind me at like 6 yds. I clipped my release on and was about to draw back, and he blasted out because he seen me out of the very corner of his eye. So that got me thinking if coyotes have been running around in the woods one day, do y'all think the next day would even be good enough to hunt or am I wasting my time?
Keep hunting. Where I hunt there all around me whether I see them or not. I've even had them push deer to me in the past. Who knows, you may get a crack at him tomorrow.
Nothing this morning for me.. Hopefully some action this afternoon Sent from my Milestone X2 using Tapatalk 2
Checking back in guys (I was off the grid for 3 days muskie fishing)... Sounds like seasons are opening and we are underway. Keep up the good work! Hopefully, we'll have a buck down soon!
I didn't make it out at all this weekend but it looks like we have a front moving through Wednesday night/Thursday morning so I may try to get out Wednesday afternoon for a few hours and see what is moving.
It was pretty warm by me all weekend. I decided to just take it easy. Going for another sit or two next weekend. Looking forward to the rut that is for sure. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
