How about you and brad just hunt and i'll just text you updates on the game. FINAL WI 44 NEB 43 (UPSET)!
Yes I am. There is no way the badgers will keep this one close. Nebraska is going to be looking for revenge of last year and put a beat down on the weak badgers. Its going to ugly. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

The rest of us slackers need to get after the does! If everyone puts down a doe we will be right in the thick of things when the bucks start hitting the ground.
A week from Friday I'll be headed out to my grandparents farm in Kansas for 4 days. That'll be my first chance to hunt this season and my best shot at a big buck. Hopefully I can put one of the big boys i saw this summer on the ground and get some points on the board for the team. Other than that I have to wait til the 15th for the mass season to open.
Good luck! Would love to see a big buck down! This is the best time of our year... Anticipation is almost better then the success... ALMOST.
I'm heading up north this afternoon and going to do a quick evening sit if I can up there early enough. Going to be there all weekend but I have a bunch of my buds coming up for a cabin warming weekend. Might do more boozing than hunting once those guys show up Friday night. We will see. Good luck bwebb2! Kabar5714 sucks to have to wait that long but good luck when you do get to be in the woods. After a phone call I had this morning honestly guys I'm having second thoughts about my approach to hunting this year. EHD is really hitting our deer population hard here in Nebraska, I talked to a friend at game and parks a little bit ago and he said the kill numbers are "staggering". First and foremost I'm praying for an early freeze! With that said I'm torn, do I go out and hunt as usual assuming that the future is going to suck no matter what so the couple deer that I take really won't make a difference. On the other hand, which is where my heart is, be a steward of the earth and hold off on my hunting until after we get a freeze, go out, gauge population and then make decision if the herd is strong enough to lose a couple animals? For some perspective on my property we usually have 8-10 bucks a year that we have enough pictures of to name them, this year I have 2. The property usually has between 15-20 does & fawns, so far this year we've seen 6-7 and we are looking at 2-4 weeks until usually get our first hard freeze. Thankfully my buddies property thus far doesn't seem to have been hit as hard but the longer we go without a freeze the farther it will reach. I'd like to hear any thoughts you guys have.
I think that's a tough call - in the end you know the herd better than anyone else. If you feel like it needs to be managed a certain way I think do it. my 2 cents.
