Aaron checking in. Obviously my name is Aaron jones and I am hunting northeast Texas and south west Arkansas. Haven’t even put out cameras so I don’t have any pictures this year. Plan on putting them out here in a few weeks. My season open September 22 in Arkansas and September 29 in Texas. I am going to start running trail cameras a little differently this year. I am going to put them in a few spots where I can get the general gist of deer in the area. Like what the average buck is and what a more mature buck looks like for the area and I will go for that caliber buck. Hoping to get after it in the early season. Been reading a lot of Dan Infalt’s stuff on the hunting beast forum and want to try finding specific beds and hunting those beds. Good luck this season! Alrighty, quick check in while the dependants are still asleep. Tennessee has a velvet hunt starting the 24th! I'll be in Michigan though..sadface. Our archery season starts Sept. 22 and I am actually pretty pumped again, last year was a bust. I also have an Illinois tag again, hopefully, I can get one of those beasts to mount on the wall...or garage since my wife is adamant about "no deer in the house". I have cameras out with a couple good deer on them, still need to clean up a few shooting lanes and swap out a lock-on stand, but I am basically ready to go! I'll be back soon, here are some deer pics for now, I've only checked them once when I went out to hang stands. I'll check them again after my Michigan trip. FIngers crossed I have some more daylight pictures.
Just finished up a fishing trip to northern Ontario so I’ll be more active now. Season starts September 15th here in CT. I plan on hunting opening day and just hunt cold fronts from opening day until late October, then I usually hunt relentlessly for the entire month of November. I have a whitetail trip planned to upstate New York to chase some good bucks on a friend’s property the last week of October. I’m loving all those trail cam pics you guys are posting! I don’t like to share my pics cause I don’t want to build up hype and come up short, but I have about 2 or 3 nice bucks on camera that I’m excited to hunt. As for team name, I vote Earn It
I’m in Michigan here hunting my own farm...usually good for 1-2 doe and a bow buck. Last year was rough for me but I’m hoping for a redeeming season. I have great habitat and food sources so there’s good potential for a few mature bucks on my farm every year. I just got my first inventory cam out on a food plot last week, so I’ll post any targets if I get pics of them.
Where in CT? I grew up in Franklin, I'm sitting in Groton right now about to tear up some French toast with strawberries. Stayed at misquamicut for a few days, was supposed to be there all week but our rental home was filthy so we've been bouncing from available hotels.
