Soldier reporting for duty. Hello all. Can't wait to get into the stand. I'm hunting Illinois and also picked up a property in Wisconsin. Season starts in about two weeks!

Are we the FWBs? I can dig it.

Every year I suggest Hunts With Bowses, because my favorite band is Guns N' Roses, and every year it gets shot down.

But I like Fuzzy Wuzzy Bunnies!

Scott - I think I had to cash in all my street cred just to get the team name, but it was money well spent. It feels good to fly the Bunny flag. This avatar makes me feel like a total badass. Bunnies are trending right now - they're like the new Lap Dog, or the Pot-Bellied-Pig of 1992.

As for laying down the inches, it's not going to be that easy this year. There are a few great bucks that I know to be alive, but I haven't even seen so much as a blip on the radar from them. I'm hoping they materialize after the post-velvet stirrup.

My hunting spots are good, but not great (especially in the early part of the season). I've got no crop fields to hunt at all, so that makes early October a tough go. If the acorns don't cooperate, I'll have a really hard time even seeing deer. I think the couple big deer that I'm looking for are stacked-up in the corn/bean fields down the road - out of this guy's reach for the time being. I'd like to look for something 140+, but the pickings are really slim, at the moment. Things will change once the leaves come off, though.

It will probably come as bad news for the team, but I'm slow-playing this season. I'm 100% sure that there are at least two animals that will gross Boone within a mile of one of the properties that I can access. I'm mentally prepared to eat my tags unless I can drop something that's really a nice piece of wall candy.

If I start to feel too frustrated, I'll shoot something scrubby in PA, just to fill my tag and get us on the board.

Tony - the next time I "put down the inches," I'll think of you. :poke:

Cody, Casey, jjn, D34, UPBow - we wanna see some PICTURES! Post up some pics of some deer that you're after, deer you've gotten in the past, old girlfriends, anything. Tell us where you're hunting, what you're hunting, who you go with, etc...

Cody - why can't I figure out how to rename this thread? I keep editing and changing the title, but my change never shows up. I'm trying to rename this thread as: "Team 22 - The Fuzzy Wuzzy Bunnies"

Oh, and check these out. I just pulled a local card, and look what I got:

    Shedding the velvet on Friday.

In case you're wondering what the King calls a "scrubby" PA buck.....here's what I'd like to shoot this year. Twice in daylight, I haven't checked the card in a week. The next time that I go in, I'm hanging a stand with intentions to shoot this buck on opening day barring a straight W wind.

    "Scrubby?!" Ha!

I'm talking about one like I just posted - i.e. in the 60-80" range, with milk still on its lips... That's a GREAT buck for PA, and I'd whale on him without so much as a moment's hesitation.

He's hitting your mock scrape, eh? His days may be numbered...

I "think" I know where he is bedding, but unsure of where he is heading when he hits this scrape. It's off the beaten path of where my brother and his buddies tramp through, but it's not too far off, just down a bench from the thoroughfare of hunters. My problem is I lack the ability to hunt mornings other than weekends. The two shots I have of him in the two weeks I've had the cam out, he's made appearances at 6:30 and 8 am.

That scrub buck would go on my wall if I killed him.

Pat - if we can manage to win this contest, you (and everyone else on bh.com) will be so sick of seeing this ridiculous avatar, and random pictures of rabbits, that you'll want to just go buy rabbit at the pet store and throw it out the window on the interstate.

This is the best buck I have a pic of so far. He'll probably get a pass from me this year.
