Sat til 230 today. At sunrise had a hot doe come up into my effective circle of death. Never presented a shot, 20 minutes later, my third p&y class buck came to her trail and dispite all attemps to pull him out of the thick undercover she stayed in he wouldn't comit to come out of it for a shot. He is a buck I dont beleive I have a history with at all, a solid 3 1/2 yr old 8 pointer that would have been right at pope and young. I would have loved to match some of my 2 yr old sheds from this spring to the skull plate. Not today! My vacation time is running out.
Stay at it UP. Quik, get some. I'm really hoping to drill a doe this week, but will be toting the bow in rifle season just in case on would slow down enough to get shot.
Come on you silly play boy bunnies, make the magic happen or get back in the hat! Stop worrying about seasons closing and vacation time ending. Read the sign and place yourself where you need to be! It only takes 30 seconds if you do it right! Be there! Good hunting bunnies!
Your right huckleberry. read the sign, make the shot.... Collect 50 points..... Shes hangin and coolin now, didnt even turn the camera on when this doe came in it was time to fill the freezer, to bad to cause it would have been a nice video, oh well.
Thanks Cowboy, i dont know what poll your talkin about. I have hockey in a little while then its butcherin time. Gota hurry cause 4:00am comes early, I have a buck tag to fill. And their movin down here now.
Way to go UP!!! I saw some does and a small buck chasing a doe during my sit today. I will be out all day tomorrow.
Back to work today, sux. My good buddy hit a slob saturday night, so I took my last day off to help track. We followed good blodd for 150 yards he bedded up and closed the would got out of bed and we never found anymore blood. Sun up to all most sundown searchin. Nothing, I watched the video he rushed the shot and hit him in the high neck area. He was a slob! I beleive this buck is nicked up but is fine, sux big time.
Hey guys.. sorry I have been so quiet lately. I have been hunting like a mad man the last two weeks trying to get SOMETHING on the ground but my efforts have been futile. I have came close often, but can't seal the deal. I've moved off the does and onto the bucks now so I'm hoping for more intense action. My brother shot the number 1 buck on my hitlist this past Saturday with his muzzloader. He scored 148 6/8" as a mainframe 10 with 5 kickers. Freaking horse of a deer he was. Dressed at 180 which is a giant deer for western Va. Plus, he was only a 4 year old. Attached are a couple photos. Im taking a couple days off to re focus and get a change of scenery before I disappear again for another week and a half. Wish me luck! Also, check out the little video I put together of my hunting adventures in October!
Watch the video.. ;-) http://forums.bowhunting.com/showth...r-Cartoon-Rendition-Justin-and-Christine-Gab.
Great job UP, congrats on your doe! Keep pluggin for that buck! Too bad your friend lost the slob. I would have like to have seen it. Cody, Thanks, that was truly inspiring! I am telling you, every time I have an itch to be in the woods, I will watch your video! Too cool! Pass on a "congrats!" to your brother for me.
Awesome video, Cody. Man, you have talent. I mean that. Team Sixers - we are down, but not out. If I have to put on my bunny suit and track each one of you down individually and bludgeon you with a club, I will. So, if you get a knock at the door, and a 6-foot bunny is standing on the porch, just step on outside and take what's comin' to ya.
Tomorrow morning will be my first time out in almost 10 days! I dont think I can put any more points up for the team, but I hear thru the grape vine that a buck I was chasin the last few years was finally sighted back in the area he has came to the last three years. I hope to put a tag on Whitey McStallionson in the next week! I have 2 years of sheds and alot of heartbreak from this buck. If Im lucky enough to tag him I will put a full story up, of our history.
