Sat from dawn til 3 today, had to be home for takin the little one trick or treatin. Had a big mature doe come thru at first light, her hawks were dark as hell, I thought she had to have some body in tow but it didnt happen. Allmost mad a movie star out of her with the camera I would have had to really rush the only shot she gave me. Ended up seeing 6 does, fawns and no antlers today. Tomorrow starts a 4:00, all day sit tomorrow. P.S. I was sitting in a public peice today, drove past my farm and was happy to see they were cutting 200 acres of corn to the north of the main bedding area, would have loved to be sitting in it this evening, but try it out in the am I beleive

I'm dying to get out this week. I just don't think I'm going to have any time. I've got next Thursday and Friday off work. I know the big boys have really started moving during daylight here. Hopefully I can sneak in a hunt this weekend, otherwise it's gonna be a long week and a half.

Hey guys checkiing in, Sorry for not being around much. Really have not been out much this year, probably around 15 - 20 sits so far. Here in Mn, we can only fget 1 deer total between all 3 of our seasons, so I have been holding out. The landowner likes me to hunt the gun season with him, so for me to use my tag before then, he would have to be bigger then what I have on the wall. Anyways, I got some bad and good news yesterday, but I knew it was coming. We had a company shutdown starting today, and will run threw the whole month of November. Good thing is we can collectg unemployment, and better news yet, couldnt ask for a better time of year for it to happen!!!:)

Oh I forgot to ask, I am thinking about getting a cheaper video cam to start filmiing my own hunts, but mostly just to do some filming when I am sitting on stand. Somewhere between $100, and $200. I know, you get what you pay for, but I dont want to stick a ton of money into it right away, I figure I can always upgrade.

Sat all day yesterday with a change of location at around 10 am. Rattled in a small 6 pointer at first location, and had a 7 pointer cruise by around 3pm. Not another deer to be seen yesterday, sitting out the morning due to some other things needin done. Will be out soon, with all day sits coming tomorrow and friday. Just waiting the big boys out, most of my buddies are seeing the same thing right now, 2 1/2 and younger, but nothing mature on their feet yet during daylight, it should open up soon!

We were talking about foodplots earlier this season, and I know that we were all eagerly anticipating the big bucks starting to frequent them. Well, it looks like our hard work is finally starting to pay big dividends.

They're not megabucks by any stretch of the imagination, but they're trophy enough for us.

Growing up, we couldn't even dream of seeing a buck that size in the woods. Pretty damn awesome.

Just moved a couple of unproductive sets. Have to work tonight and tomorrow night then I'm off for 10 days to hunt.

Nice deer and plots Quick. I have a spot I've been wanting to try to clear out and plant one just haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe after the season I'll start on it.

Whiffed on a doe today with the recurve, and had an encounter with a GIANT 4x4. Easily one of the best bucks I've seen from the stand. Mid-130's all day long.

The bucks were active this morning, fellas.

I shot right under the doe at 18 yds. Probably a little further away than I'd haved liked it to be. Oh well. Such is life.

Had a close call on a nosy doe tonight. She's real lucky that my father in law was upwind. She was heading for the business end of a VForce one.

Gentlemen - I understand that the Bunnies will have two more deer to add to the scoresheet. A little birdie told me that D34 might have had a big week in Pike County.

    :)

Great night in the woods last night for me. Fifteen minutes after sitting down I had two does feeding at 20 yards. The does left and a 5 point took their place. The 5 point hung out for a while then a doe and three raccoons took his place. After that I lost count...does were running everywhere. A spike showed up near the small pond about 50 yards from me. Then a forkhorn showed up and fed 25 yards from me until dark. I haven't seen this much chasing/rut activity for a few years.

It's going to be hard to make it through three days of work this week before my vacation days in Thursday and Friday.

Im out of the tree right now cause my wifes car had a flat. Slid down headed home, car needs a complete set, and an alignment. Called ahead and sent her over, when she comes back goin right back out. Today had my target buck at 5 yards! about 7 minutes before shootin light! It was Astro a 4 year old 8 pointer that will go to the mid 130s. Later had a mature doe follow same trail, couldnt get her in frame while I was at full draw! she walked. Thats two deer this week that walked because of this self filmin bug I have. Its not easy thats all my friend keeps tellin me who has about 10 self filmed hunts to his credit, hes right. I dont think if I was to get a shot at Astro if the camera being perfect will make me not shoot, Im not at that level yet. Deer movement during day light is at a minimum right now.

I came dangerously close to cutting one loose on that big PA buck last Saturday. If things shake out at work the way they're supposed to, I'll be back in the stand on Thursday a.m., Friday a.m., and Saturday all day. That'll close out the PA season.

If I play my cards right, I might be able to squeeze out 20 hours of stand time for the grand finale.

Luckily, this big fellow lives right on the way to the office. :)

As an aside, we may need to issue an A.P.B. for Altizer. He's gone AWOL.
