Looks good. I have never make a food plot lol I have only ever plowed some fields for my grandfather. Clover is looking good! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nice looking clover plot there! I attempted a couple small clover plots last season but they turned to garbage real quick. there’s still some clover left but not nearly what I was hoping for. I needed better soil prep and weed control
I mow a couple times a year to keep weeds down, but the whitetail institute seed I used did really well. Timing is certainly key. I was lucky to have planted on bare ground my farmer had cultivated for me so there was no weed competition that Spring. By Fall it was pretty thick, but by the following Spring was a lush carpet of clover/chicory. Now I just mow 2-3 times per year
The other half of that plot will be whitetail institute pure attraction which worked really well for me as a fall plot last year...they love those oats
October 1st here in New York. Killed my biggest buck last season, 105". Just trying to have fun, stay safe and hopefully this year, I get my first 120' or bigger!! Name is Glenn Rommel, from Long Island. Heres my buck from last year
I’m always excited this time of year lol but with the move and the potential for new places to hunt it has amplified. Hall I think you might as well change the thread name to Team 22 Earn it. I’ll post it to the teams thread and make it official. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I got confirmation that the giant we were hunting last year is alive so that’s exciting he would push Boone and Crocket. I got a couple other bucks off my cards too but I haven’t transferred them to my phone yet and the ones I took off the screen are crappy so I’ll post them when I get time to get the real pics. Man seeing all these pictures is getting me pumped up. Cannot wait for the season!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Plowing fields last few days, deer tracks are everywhere. I have three main spots but also plan for a few more tree stands, season starts in two weeks in Ky. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m really hoping the bottom buck makes it through this year. The one that almost touches might be on the hit list not positive on his age game time decision. Not sure I have ever seen the one behind it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Just north-west of Nashville TN. I left CT in August 2001 for the Army, as you can tell by the date, it was perfect timing for what was to come. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell Ky my entire time, I came to like the area and stayed in the south. I'm back home now and I think I ate every lobster and piece of french toast in the CT/RI area.
We have now reached the longest time of the year for me. The teams are set, everyone has introduced themselves, and now we are all just waiting for season to start. On a happy note I just talked work into giving me a extra week vacation that I lost when I came over to this job a year ago. So rutcation just got a little sweeter Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thank you for your service! Did you do much hunting in CT before leaving for the Army? I always used to see dozens of deer in that small field near the Franklin Swamp DEP office. There were always tons of deer in those fields along rt 32. I always wanted to knock on some doors out there but never did
I may have just landed a new hunting property. My wife’s aunt and uncle have a buddy with way to many deer kind of thing. Fingers crossed! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
