This should be an interesting weekend for shotgun season. I’m planning on carrying my bow with me as often as possible because I really want to get a good one with it. Some stands are really just shotgun stands so I won’t bother if I sit in those but if I shoot a buck with a shotgun it’s going to be a special one or just one I have been instructed to kill. My brand new freezer is sitting 90% empty. I suspect that will change after this weekend.

    Nice job count the biggest.

I have to admit it was too easy to take a couple deer

First shotgun is gone with no big bucks taken. I wish I would have had 2 weeks vacation this year I had a lot of good activity on my farm 11/5-11/11. If any of you guys have food plots where you know bucks have a tendency of funneling around and through I would definitely suggest putting a oak licking branch out like I did this year. The amount of daylight pics I got in that timeframe on that scrape was remarkable. Next year I think I’m gona cement a pine 4x4 and put a flag holder on it so they have something to rub as well. Should make some great videos.

Wow that worked pretty good, I figure I can still score a doe for us at the very least . I’ll be sitting this weekend, only about 700 points to first, maybe we have a late rally yell.

I added no scent either. Just a oak branch sticking up about 5’. Im still confident I’ll get anoth chance at a buck in my beans late season. I’m thinking of trying a hunt on the public land next to my house Sunday night weather permitting where I’d I’d pry shoot pretty much anything that wasn’t tiny.

I could have shot a spike last week when I he came in dogging a doe. Decided to pass. I’m still getting out there as much as possible! I’m not slowing down till the last day.

I still have six weekends left and my beans are starting to get hit pretty good. Still some good bucks running around as well and I’m putting some cameras out on the public land this weekend. If I find any consistent daylight movement there I’ll move on it pretty sure there won’t be hardly any pressure there now that shotgun season is gone we shall see.

I put six cameras on the public land Sunday then went to the private land and ended up missing a doe. I think I may have hit a branch not sure. It was to quiet no wind whatsoever. Next time I get some snow or some just plain super cold weather I’ll go back they are hitting my beans pretty good. Still think I’ll get a chance. Until then I’m dedicating myself to learning something about this public land and hopefully killing my first public land deer.

Sorry I've been missing, it's been a busy month but it will finally start slowing down after this weekend. Going to get out a few more times to try and fill my last buck tag or maybe a doe or two.
I have not even been close to my hunting area to see if the bean are still standing.

Well, how's everyone doing? Keep at it, I know it can get frustrating, but don't burn out. I'm guilty of getting burned out in past seasons, it can really put a damper on the enjoyment.

I've been really busy as well. Gun/muzzleloader hunting since the 17th till last weekend. I saw lots of deer, but not one buck! First year I can ever say that. Opening day of gun I saw 25 does and fawns. I did take one doe with the rifle and one with the muzzle loader. I'm still going to get out with the bow a few times. Been and interesting season for me. I've really enjoyed hunting with buddies during the gun seasons. Good luck to everyone!

Well I think it’s safe to say we didn’t win lol I had fun though. It was a crazy year for me and I did not get to hunt as much as I would have liked. I did end up taking a doe a couple weeks ago but somehow I completely forgot about the contest. Sorry :( this weekend is the final one and I will be out. My camera shows a lot of deer using my beans and we are supposed to get cold weather with the snow finally. It’s still possible I could get it done. If not, I had fun doing this contest anyway and good luck to everyone else in the future.
