was hoping to be able to hunt opening day here in MO (9/15) but got called in to work that day... can still hunt the AM, but unless there's a beast I doubt i'll even raise the bow. but still, excited to be able to hunt at least part of the day that day!
Do you guys ever go on thecrush.tv and look at the crush cam? Its pretty cool. I always go on this time of year and watch the monsters come in and fight at the feeder. For anyone who isn't familiar with it Lee and Tiffany put a feeder out in the woods and have a 24 hour cam with a live feed. When you put out scrapes, do you use any scent for the licking branch? I tried one last year and the deer didn't hit it real hard, wondering what I did wrong.
Only back for a day an wanted to see how everyone else was doin. The avatar looks great thank you. We got within 15 yards of some does but no shot. Its a lot different when your spot an stalk than when you sit in a stand(no offense). Jumped a few bucks but not what we were lookin for. For a whole lot of reasons you guys don't care about I haven't made it out to hunt yet but today is the day. Truck is packed and come 4:00 I'm rolling out to the woods. Hopefully I get to see a deer tonight...
It was a great night to be in the stand, had one small buck close unfortunately that was the only deer a saw. Put up a couple cameras so we'll find out in a couple weeks if I have any motivation to get out of bed on those cold blustery mornings.
starts monday for me, i work nights but SHOULD be able to hunt the AM. after that it's gonna be about a week before I can get back out there. driivng me crazy just waiting. had a cold front come through, went from 90's to 60's.. all i wante to do was be in that tree!!! good luck all.
