Hey those look awesome!!!! Thanks a lot for doing that for me! I'm still on cloud 9 that it all came together. When I get home to my laptop I'll use the same technique and post him to the scorecard.

    Good deal man!!
I know you got big bucks running all around but that is a buck of a lifetime in my book. I'd stay on cloud 9 a really long time lol

Now that I know I can get good quality pics on here I might as well share my account of what was undoubtedly the most exciting hunting experience of my life.

As most of you know I got in late Friday night after working 12 hours, pulled into home about 11:30 and went right to bed after prepping my gear. I hit the woods about 45 mins before light in a set I call the muddy oak. It's a giant oak in a small pinch in the creek bottom where the river makes an east/west bend. Deer travel through here all the time, it's loaded with acorns, has water, and borders an 80 acre winter wheat field. It's the same set I killed my doe out of earlier this year. To the south is a quarter mile of oak bottom Timber and to the north is native grass bordered by thick hedge, cedar, and plum thicket doe bedding.

Once shooting light came around I never sat down until about 9:35. I watched wave after wave after wave after wave after wave of single does and does with fawn come from that north bedding, through my pinch, and head out west across the wheat, or travel south along the bottom timber. I literally felt like I was hunting in a doe tornado. I counted 31 does and yearlings. Ridiculous! Mixed in there were two small bucks nudging and trying to chase, and across the wheat at about 250 yards I did see one notable rack, but he never got close enough for me to see if he was a shooter or if I knew him. At that point it was about 9:30 when I caught my last glimpse of the decent buck. My legs ached from standing that long so I decided to sit. I had a doe to my west on the wheat and a yearling in front of me browsing acorns. Fast forward to 9:53-ish when I decide to maybe rattle a bit....I look to my left to reach my pack-a-rack and there he is. My buddy RC "rib cage". And he's already snuck In to about 25 yards. It never ceases to amaze me how stealthy a mature whitetail can navigate the woods. He's coming right down Broadway on a trail that puts him at 15 yards. I stop looking at rack and focus behind his shoulder. As he looked away I drew, settled in, and after a few steps he stopped exposing his vitals and quartered away and I put my spitfire maxx behind his shoulder and passed through in his off sided arm pit. He ran about 35 yards spraying blood, and I watched him fall from the tree. It was incredible!

Funny thing about RC, I had an encounter with him last year from that same set November 7, chasing a doe. My only pics of him this summer were from a cam near that set on July 4th. I never thought he would be the one to come by me yesterday, but it definitely completes the story to seal the deal on him from that stand. I sure am glad I elected to pass last season. He didn't add much for points and length, but his mass got awesome, and he carried it all the way through his tines. Last year he was a low 130-ish 9 pointer. I'll share some of those pics when I get home to my computer.

Texts and phone calls ensued, a shaking adrenaline rush, and some big bucks thanks to The Lord and Savior for a safe and succesful hunt. I feel so blessed to hunt where I do and to have harvested a buck like this.

He's my official biggest rack at 158.125". He's my second biggest body at 242 pounds. I shot a 155" eleven point buck in 2011 that weighed 263. Those are live weights taken at a local processor on a certified scale used when they process beef and hogs. We weigh before any gutting, skinning, or caping occurs.

Wow! Jeffacarp and Ladyforge great bucks!

This was a hot weekend here in Michigan as well with our first snowfall moving in and temps dropping into the 20°'s, well as hot as it could be without getting a deer. Saturday we had 18 mph winds with 30 mph gust but we still took the stand. Ended up doing some rattling around 830 and within 5 min I had TwinTowers 100 yards away chasing a doe around, Could not believe his size from that far away. after an hour or so I did some more light rattling and had a nice tight racked 8 point come into range, he ended up getting behind me so I had no shot. Other than some doe that was my Saturday. Sunday I only had until 10 to hunt but it was eventful. Around 9 I had about 15 Doe & Fawn come running down a path heading right to my stand, I had drawn on one but just didn't think she was quite big enough, especially since I have seen plenty more bigger mature doe in the area. After they came by I had two button bucks a split fork spike and a busted up 7 point come through.

The rut is on in Michigan, now I have to find some time to make it out in the afternoon. Great weekend team, the arrows are flying!

Sorry for the absence guys... I had a marathon of work all Oct. (plus a blown engine, TWO bites from a brown recluse, a 15 y/o daughter w/ an 18 y/o boyfriend, and now a toasted transmission in the truck I bought 3 days ago!! :whip:).. but my list of non-excuses ends there! I'm on day 3/9 of vacation and about to head out to the woods in a loaner truck. Way to go to all that have scored and good luck the rest of us still trying to get it done!!!!

Wow!!! Awesome LF! You and your husband are straight up killers! Congratulations on the season you're having! I was pretty pumped when I saw your name on the team list. I knew you were a guarantee for points. Don't worry about not posting score yet, you've still got almost two months to get it up there haha! I don't have mine up either and am waiting until I get back so I can post better pics from my computer instead of my phone.
