Where I hunt the yotes are thick ( they dont allow us to shoot them ) they dont seem to bother the mature deer to much IMO.
Not so much either Lady Forge...they just keep the little ones from ever making it to a mature age...i have only seen a handful while hunting but they are everywhere down here. You better not put a bad shot on an animal that you plan on saving...there is no just leave it till morning if you want the meat or cape...yotes kill fawns, turkey polts, squirrels, rabbits so as far as I am concerned the only good one is a dead one
I'm with you on the only good coyote is a dead one. I had a pack of them start howling at me about 200 yards away when I started to gut my doe a few weeks back.
You got that right! I've had to wait for reinforcements to come in before before I would climb down..
How are you adding them? are they from gallery, third-party (photobucket)? take a look at your camera options and settings, maybe change resolution.
I have the same problems! Anything I post from my camera roll comes out blurry. I've only started noticing it since I got an iPhone 6. My trail cams I load directly to a file on my computer then upload to my phone through iTunes and even those come out blurry. I dk what the deal is...
Well I'm jealous of anyone hitting the woods in the Midwest Friday and Saturday...it looks like there are gonna be some dead bucks after this cold from! I may get out there Monday evening and all day Tuesday, although forecast says heavy rain those days...we'll see what I end up doing. If not I won't get back out there until Friday-Wednesday
Well I'm Home Dang wind was to high tonight to get out for the evening, calling for it to calm down for tomorrow night. I'll be passing out candy from my place tomorrow night so I guess I won't get out till Saturday morning, good luck to everyone hunting Holloween! That's usually the start of the deer hitting the dirt. Rocky
I will be hunting Saturday morning but thats it...the temps here in NC are supposed to plummet Sunday a Monday but I want be able to take advantage...
Wednesday night I unfortunately took a bad shot on a doe and never found her or any blood. My question is, How long would you wait to hunt that same stand again? I have only hunted it twice and have only seen deer at it once, but on cam the big boys stop by periodically.
My thoughts are at this time of year are you can get away with a bit more intrusion than normal. The bucks are running does, chasing, fighting, and trying to lock down an estrus hottie. They've got other things on their mind. I'm not saying to disregard wind and your entrance/exit routes. I just think they let their guard down a bit. They're constantly moving and if you've got a good spot, I'd hunt it as often as the wind allows. Especially if you know shooters are frequenting the area. I've got a stand I call the killing tree, I pound it harder than my normal sets but it's a great NW wind spot and big bucks love the area. I've hunted it many days in a row in past years and always have encounters. Just my opinion, but it seems to work for me. This doesn't apply to early or late season, but rut and pre-rut only on my property.
I think I'm hitting the woods tomorrow morning. Ima drive home from KC after work (2 hour drive) after working a 12 hour shift. Hunt until noon, then my wife and I have a wedding at 3:00 pm back in the city. The things I'll do to kill big bucks....
Fun fun Jeff!! I am gonna hunt in the a.m. And then I will be done till next week....good luck and be safe in all your travels especially after working 12 hrs
