Been at a conference all week guys so sorry no post...Jake I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. May she rest in peace... We have had cool front that is supposed to roll in tonight so tomorrow should be interesting....
Well guys shot a doe a couple days ago and never ended up finding her unfortunately tracked for hours and hours. Ended up seeing 11 does and 1 buck that day. Went yesterday and saw 4 does and some turkeys none in range. The temp tomorrow morning is going to be 34 degrees!!! Every time it's been that cold I have had pics of bucks in the morning on their feet so hopefully we can get on the board. I need some redemption after never finding that doe.
Well guys i haven't killed a doe off the family farm in 2 years...I'm making a decision to hunt my turnip plot Sunday evening and the first nanny to come by will catch a killzone in her lungs. I've been gone two weeks, haven't checked cards or set foot on the farm since then. I'm itchy to get an arrow bloody! On a negative note, my work situation and that of my wife's has changed at our current hospital. We are considering going back to travel nursing. That means I may not be hunting the rut in Kansas. It sucks after all the work I've put in, and greatly reduces my chances of harvesting a 150" buck but we'll see what happens. In going to hunt hard with the very very very little time I have left. Maybe I'll get lucky. Good luck to everyone out there! We will draw blood soon enough!
I worked from 6:00am till 1 today, got home and changed cloths and drove out to hunt. High winds of 20 miles an hour had me hesitant but I remembered seeing big bucks traveling in high winds so I went for it. I hadnt been in the stand 30 minutes when I see 2 does and a fawn coming in. I Got a doe at 3:00pm this afternoon. She gave me a 30 yard quartering away shot. I got both lungs and she piledup 60 yards from where I shot her.
Awesome Lady Forge! Showing us guys how it's done! Today was my first sit here in MI. Kicked up one doe and was almost shaking when I heard a coon creeping in lol.
Well done LF!! Congrats! This was day 1 for me... saw 3 fawns this morning (no clue where the nanny was) ..and nada this evening. Definitely loving this weather though!
Congrats LF! Way to be the ice breaker for us! Nice healthy doe too! I bet she'll taste great! I just got so pumped to get in a tree now that we're on the board! Hopefully I can add to that tomorrow evening! Here we go ladies and gentlemen!
Doe down here in Tennessee! Sweet Redemption! Heard her crash about 20 minutes ago going to track her now!
Some serious backstraps hit the dirt for us this weekend! Way to go everyone! Congrats to those who harvested and good luck to those hunting this week! My next sit will be Sunday evening.
