All set up. Didn't get time to hunt, but I'm ready for next weekend. Nothing but nannies and a fawn or two on cam still, but they're holding a decent pattern. If it holds true and my blind doesn't scare the hell out of them between now and next weekend, something's getting a hole through it :fro:

I haven't been checking the scorecard thread, but are we the only ones with a slow start? Or does this seem to be a widespread pandemic?

I'm getting itchy to return to Kansas and do a bit of hunting

I looked at the scorecard and it seems that several teams are off to a slow start. I didn't go out for the opener in Ohio. I love bowhunting, but I may just love catching big perch just as much. I went out on Lake Erie on Sunday with my brother and my 4 yr old. We killed 'em. Now that I got that out of my system I can better focus on hunting.

Man it was hot this weekend. Saw a few but wasn't real excited about dealing with a deer in 70deg temps.

    I'm Done Till The 11th
Go back to work in the am guys, was going to hunt this morning but the trees were bent over from high winds. I was ticked at that, man I never hunted like I should have. Had 28 days off and hunted 5 evenings. Man in my book, that's brutal. I should have at least put in 20 hunts. I'll have to make up for it in November, October 11th,till the 19th, then ,October 31st till November 28th. If I can't get it done in that amount of time ,then I shouldn't be hunting. Good luck team mates, I'll be a cheerleader for the time being.

Well I had the chance Saturday morning to get us 50 points. My older brother did not have a place ready to go so I invited him to come sit in my ground blind with me. I had a mature doe at 19 yards perfectly broadside or quartering away for 25 MINUTES!!! If He wouldn't have been with me an arrow would have been flung but He kept saying just hold off, just hold off....These are the morning when the big ones show up....It was a great morning with the temps and breeze...Although, ultimately, it was my call not to shoot...I was just hoping He was right. Unfortunately, He was wrong and we didn't see another deer....I went out Saturday evening and after getting to my stand I had to give myself a blood transfusion in the treestand since 2.7 billion mosquitoes attacked me on the way in...I had to go get bug spray and leafy suit since my Thermocell got bush hogged....It was kind of weird though because once I came back and got half way up the tree, they never bothered me again....Didn't see nothing that evening...

I have a conference this week so I will not be hunting again until Saturday so if big nannie goat comes back out it will be game over...

Well a cold front blew through today finally and it went from 80 deg to 50 deg in a matter of hours. I will be on stand at the lease tomorrow night. Hoping to get us on the board.

Well Bear camp was a flop, high 70° for 4 days. Ended up watching a badger most of the week in the bait pile which was cool and then got to practice drawing on a doe that walked in on the last day. Coolest thing was on our way home we passed a moose crossing sign, didn't think anything of it until i almost smoked a big michigan bull going about 70. Moose didn't even break stride as he looked down into the cab of my truck. In the end no bear but, awesome experience and trip before the deer stand this weekend! Happy Opening day to everyone who has been waiting until October.

Opening morning I had a doe at 42 yds but no clear shot. The afternoon hunt was in the 80's so by the time I got setup with my climber in the tree I was a sweaty mess and nothing came by my stink but some turkey's:sad:
On the bright side my husband got his doe at 5:00pm yesterday:woot:
Its pooring rain this morning so I slept in and I will wait for another cool morning to hunt.

Hopefully this will be bloody after these storms in the midwest pass over. Took today off work with hopes that the end of these storms will have the deer up on their feet. First day in the stand this year!
