    Didn't Get Out
Had a deal with the wife ,If I took her out to dinner tonight I could go for Elk on Monday for a week. Signed sealed ,done with! Nice now I can maybe get an elk or Mulie seeing there both in the same area! Come back the following Sunday and then it's off chasing Moose and whitetails. Man I love my job for the freedom I have off when deer season comes around, should have done this a long time ago.

    Thanks NC
I'm blessed to have the game that walk this land in a single province. Most hunters have to travel far and abroad. The only big game animal I really would like to tag is a Red Stag from New Zealand. Unfortunatley, that won't happen as I have brutal knees that won't allow me to climb up steep embankments. New Zealand is all steep hills!!!!

Had a great weekend. Shot my bow quite a bit. Last night got my early season clothes together to be washed. Less than two weeks to go.

Its finally September! Got out to the property this weekend to finish some scouting. Found a couple hot spots where the deer having been traveling from food to water. Camera checks didn't go as planned as one of my moultries ended up dying due to a setup error and also due to the IDK factor, i'm thinking I may need to clear more brush when I set cams up. Ended up kicking some does out of a hillside bedding area but, they were gracious enough not to blow and give our area away.

Bear Trip in 23 days, then Deer when I get home!

Glad to see everybody is getting out and about doing all the fun things that we enjoy doing this time of year. I pulled my first card yesterday from a cam that had only been out a week. The only reason why I went in there was to take my blind chair in since I used it for dove hunting yesterday.....I was surprised at the number of deer hitting the trophy rock within a day or two of it being their....Had 3 different bucks and several does and fawns. One of the bucks definitely has potential but not for this year...Can't wait to see what else pops up......

I was finally able to get a couple of cams out on my property yesterday. I guess 3-4 weeks is better than nothing.

I don't have year round access to the property I hunt. I wish I did, but that just isn't the case. It's a small acre parcel and another hunter that hunts the same parcel pressures the heck out of our area once the season opens. I have tried to explain to him that sometimes less is more, but he just doesn't get it.

Anyway, I just need to wash my clothes and hang one additional stand and I will be ready.

Hey better late than never man!! Gotta be a tough situation for sure...If that is the case then just stay away from his area because the deer definitely react to that constant pressure and they will avoid the area...Good luck this season!!

    Was Quiet Tonight
Dang when I walked in I thought for sure something was going to happen, being the crop is still on the ground. The alfalfa is 2 feet high. Normally this would have been off by now. Thought for sure the deer would be on this field, walked out and not a deer to be seen. I put out a TC to see what's around and am using the Black MP6 covert. Hopefully not to bug the big guy if he's still around.Back out tomorrow night, felt like winter in the air on my walk out, was way under dressed, just had a sitka under shirt and camo shirt and pants on. Dropped to 5c by the time I walked out and was 18c when I went in at 3:30.

So what are you guys expectations for early season? I will be hopefully getting 50 points on the board early. I'm not holding too high of buck expecations till end of October.
