Skunked, a few turkeys and this (see pic) and 14,327 squirrels were all I saw.

Drizzled all day, wind changing direction, I bailed and scouted a new area in the afternoon.

I haven't been out in almost 3 weeks! Sucks but I can't just leave the wife at home all day to watch the baby. I'd feel like a jerk sitting up in a tree. Usually I get home from work at 5 and it gives her time to take a break from the baby and make dinner. Lol

Having been married for 23 yrs with 5 kids, I'm an advanced novice on the topic. .. It has to be 1) spouse 2) kids 3) Hunting (and if you're a God fearing person, he is at the top of the list above spouse). Once the kids are gone you're stuck with the spouse again so getting and keeping the relationship right is important. My interests/hobbies (eg hunting) fit into that relationship tho as do her hobbies/interests.

Well guys & gals. First day in the blind for me this season. Had a high of 64 degrees today with a now NW wind. So it's just right for me to sit on my little waterhole. Wish me luck.

yesterday morning started out with a high of 37 degrees...This morning started out at 47 this morning and dropped down to 31 by 9 am. Then started to rain...um snow? ok, frozen rain fell from the sky! gusty winds...I dont know...wanted to sit in the back 40, but jeese...My sit this morning was interrupted by the natural gas people...they decided that 7AM was a good time to come load backhoe etc...so much for the deer and turkeys which I saw for a brief second and then all went MIA!

Well opening day is finally here (!) and I'm set up in a ground blind for the evening. I checked my camera on the way in to find that my #1 hit list buck is back. Hopefully he'll keep showing up now that the season is here.

I'm set up in the ground blind again. Fingers crossed that the front moving through will have them on their feet!
