Checking in. May I suggest we each do a little bio to better get to know each other, I will start. Bow Hunting for 37 years " hence that means I am old". Married with kids older than most folks on this forum))). 22 years in the USAF, retired to Southern Maryland for the last 10 years. Currently I am shooting a Bear Truth 2 65# draw, Nap Apache dropaway rest, Beman ICS hunter arrows tipped with Montec CS broadheads. My hunting strategy is as follows: First doe goes to the land owner, second doe goes to Farmer Feeding the Hungry program. Every animal after those are for meat. I generally look for bucks of 115-120 or bigger. Last year I let many 100-115 deer walk, I will shoot injured deer if I believe they will not survive the winter. I hunt a total of about 60 acres with no ajoining fields "Crops". This type of hunting is hard hunting, you have to figure out travel routes and pitch points to be successful. Anyways, goodluck folks and let us all have a safe and productive year. Dave
Almost forgot, Start thinking of a team name and who whould like to be Team Captain. Also, let's keep in touch about how our hunts are going etc. This way we all can offer advice etc. Dave
Hey everyone, I'm checking in also. It'll be great learning a bit about everyone on the team this Fall. I hope everyone the best of luck and a safe season. Shoot str8! >>>-------------->
Forgot to say. I will be hunting in Arkansas. I'll try I hunt every weekend and on days web school is out. Season opens on the 15 of Sept, so hopefully some early points. This will be my 3rd year bowhunting. I haven't killed anything yet.
Hey everyone, checking in! My name is Garrett I am 21 and currently going to school at Oklahoma State. I will be hunting Oklahoma and Kansas this year since my brother moved up there. I hunt property in western Oklahoma and am trying to find some land close to Stillwater to hunt. Hopefully we can all have some luck this season!!
Well we got almost half the team checked in.................looks like we may need some replacements) Thanks Colby. Dave
Hey guys checkin in. I've been at this ADDICTING sport for about 15 years now. Typically try and shoot a doe fairly early before we get into the meat of the season. As for bucks the goal most years is a 130" or higher. In past years that hasn't been too difficult however there's been some changes from the game and parks that went into effect a two years ago. With that said we had fewer deer than usual last season. May have to bring that down to 120" or better? Guess I'll have to see what the trail cameras are telling me. Looking forward to the season. Good luck to everyone!
Guess I forgot to mention that I'm in Southeast Nebraska. I've gotten word that on one of our properties there's a couple big boys out there. That info came from the farmer. Sounds like he's seeing them pretty regularly. Hopefully my buddy and I can get some pictures?
Any ideas for captain or team name? When I get out of school I will highlight every one that has checked in.
I vote for you seeing that you checked in first and I am new to this game. I say Team name = Bow Slayers/ or One Shot. One Kill.
Couple of names: Shoot to Thrill Team Bloodtrail Team Whitetail Addiction Anyone else have any idea? Dave
HeHe, thanks Dren......................so should I just watchout for him or keep one eye on him at all times?)) Dave
You poor bastages have the cripple on your team??????? You have my condolences! Has Hospice moved in yet, SouthernMDArcher???
You'll probably be ok, I can tell you he hunts good ground and his hunting buddy is one heck of a guy.
