Checking in. May I suggest we each do a little bio to better get to know each other, I will start.

Bow Hunting for 37 years " hence that means I am old". Married with kids older than most folks on this forum))). 22 years in the USAF, retired to Southern Maryland for the last 10 years. Currently I am shooting a Bear Truth 2 65# draw, Nap Apache dropaway rest, Beman ICS hunter arrows tipped with Montec CS broadheads. My hunting strategy is as follows: First doe goes to the land owner, second doe goes to Farmer Feeding the Hungry program. Every animal after those are for meat. I generally look for bucks of 115-120 or bigger.

Last year I let many 100-115 deer walk, I will shoot injured deer if I believe they will not survive the winter. I hunt a total of about 60 acres with no ajoining fields "Crops". This type of hunting is hard hunting, you have to figure out travel routes and pitch points to be successful. Anyways, goodluck folks and let us all have a safe and productive year.

    Dave

Hey guys checkin in. I've been at this ADDICTING sport for about 15 years now. Typically try and shoot a doe fairly early before we get into the meat of the season. As for bucks the goal most years is a 130" or higher. In past years that hasn't been too difficult however there's been some changes from the game and parks that went into effect a two years ago. With that said we had fewer deer than usual last season. May have to bring that down to 120" or better? Guess I'll have to see what the trail cameras are telling me. Looking forward to the season. Good luck to everyone!

Guess I forgot to mention that I'm in Southeast Nebraska. I've gotten word that on one of our properties there's a couple big boys out there. That info came from the farmer. Sounds like he's seeing them pretty regularly. Hopefully my buddy and I can get some pictures?

You'll probably be ok, I can tell you he hunts good ground and his hunting buddy is one heck of a guy.
