Rattled in a decent buck this morning but no shot. Saw 5 this morning, 7 tonight and killed a doe. Wasn't going to shoot a doe but i watched her for an hour so i was fairly certain she was alone. Meat in the freezer

Because of this slow time for our team. I’m going out tomorrow to try to get a doe or a buck. Doesn’t matter which one. I bought ingredients for deer meat to be made into sausage and sticks. Tomorrow it gets real. All or nothing. No guarantees. Love this time of year.

Good luck out there. I’ll be up at 4 am. No hunting today. Spent time with family.

I'll be out in the morning again. Still trying to get a buck before shotgun season starts on Friday.

6 bucks so far. 1 young 8 came by that I could have shot. Others have been aways away. Got a small 8 and doe bedded 180-200 yards from me.

    Heated blinds don’t suck.

I got 2 1/2 hrs of sleep. Drinking coffee and trying to get my eyes to work right. I'll be out in a couple hours

Saw a bunch of deer. Also had a really stupid idea today. I stopped using deer pee, and anything other than evercalm, a few years back. I bought some special golden estrus today. Poured a little out a few feet from blind. Had 2 does and a really nice buck walking in on path to put them right at 40 yrds. As soon as that scent hit them they bolted and cleared the whole field. Needless to say, that bottle is now in my trash can. What was I thinking?!?!

No joke, that's about the only deer urine scent I use. Crazy how the same smell will drive one deer nuts and scare the next deer off. James Valley scents seemed to always spook deer when I used it.

So my hunting partner had a great sit this morning. 7 does, 7 bucks, and one coyote all by 930. He has a 160" personal limit, so didn't shoot anything. I asked where he's sitting in the morning and he said 'the East stand, watching you in that stand. I want to watch you shoot some deer'. There was a 140+ 10pt there this morning. I hope he comes in again tomorrow
