Go get em guys. Jim, days like you are having are the days we kill things! Good luck.

Had a spike, 4pt, and 6 pt come by around 10 this morning.

Just when things are looking down is when they will turn around for the better, last year I had to work the day I was leaving for my vacation and was on a crew with 3 people. 1 guy cut himself really bad and had to go to the hospital and then the other guy had a family emergency so I had to work by myself 7 hours extra to finish the job and it wasn’t looking like I’d be hunting that first morning of my week off. I got home was already packed knowing I wouldn’t get to the cabin until 3am and my dad said “just stay here you can leave in the morning” I said well maybe that buck walks by my stand in the morning and I’m not there. So I left and sure thing I got in that stand and 5 minutes later he came crashing in behind a doe!

Sounds like a familiar story. Lots of big bucks moving in my area this past weekend. Several good ones shot. What was I doing? Looking for a truck. Hopefully this doesn't rub off on others.

Alright mates, got the new set hung and trimmed but I'm not going to try to hunt it tonight, to much commotion. I'm going back on my foodplot where there's a lot of traffic. That was actually my plan this morning but after the truck broke down I didn't go at all. Good thing too because my cell camera showed a bunch of action back there about the time I would've got there. So I guess that worked out for the best. A couple of lessons learned today. Never drive and try to eat tacos...... bad idea. You hang and hunt guys are certifiable insane! I don't think I would ever try that. I would have been sweating today if I had hung the stand naked, even though it's in th e 30s here. And lastly, a 12ft pole saw does not fit well in a Ford Focus and I won't do that again!

    Blessings......... Pastorjim

My little brother has killed more deer (bucks included) on Halloween than on any other day. He used to say he really only needed to go out that day and relax the rest of the season.
Mr Nice Guy that I am, I'm working tomorrow for a lady with young kids so she can take them trick or treating. Hoping the rain holds off Thursday so I can be in a tree then

    Good luck Jim and button.

I had some decent action this morning. Spike, 4 pt, and 6 pt all came by between 10 and 1030. Scent checking the doe bedding. Gonna wait about a week before I head back in there. I saw their movement and adjusted a stand location.

Well it’s definitely heating up here. There’s an old cut I walk for about 300 yards to get to my stand and I counted 6 different scrapes all fresh from either last night or this morning. Only saw does this evening one of which got within range but she had two little ones still feeding. This weekend should be prime time

So many big bucks being shot locally. Feels like more than normal. Maybe I’m just anxious to get out more.

Someone mentioned the moon phase today and that might have something to do with it.

I've had a good history with Halloween but my dog is feeling neglected and the wife has a big exam for her masters. So pheasant hunting it is tonight!

Im back in where i was at yesterday. Farmers are shelling corn about a 1/4 mile away, hoping they get the deer moving.

A good bad news day. First of all, it turns out the transmission did not go out of my truck. It was a broken line and all the transmission fluid leaked out. The bad news is, since I was tied up with that most of the day I didn't get to go hunting today. Will try again in the morning at the new stand I hung the other day. Good luck to anyone going out tomorrow.
