Sadly I'm gonna have to call it. I really did everything I could. Ran the dog through the cattails and switchgrass and all he picked up was one pheasant. I hung another cam on the property to hopefully find comfort in that he lived. Never a good feeling losing a deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry Kroh sadly not every shot is a kill the best thing you can do is get back in the stand and know that that’s how Bowhunting goes sometimes! Get back out there and finish the job! Sent from my iPod touch using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sorry to hear kroh. Im back in the stand and almost cold!! Great weather weekend here, hopefully i punch my buck tag.
Man, sorry Kroh.. same thing happened to my dad last weekend. It’s tough to go through. Hopefully you’ll see pics of him in a week or two still alive and healthy. Good luck to everybody this weekend! Git-r-done!!
This guy was with a couple does this afternoon. About 150 yards down the ridge from one of my stands. Hopefully I’ll get a crack at him
Have you thought to go out tonight and listen for coyotes. If he is laying dead chances are they will be one him.
Back at it this morning looking for redemption. Hunting a spot that was really cold early season but cameras are telling me the bucks are moving now. There's 2 target bucks here one having a drop tine. Hopefully something moves soon. So far all I hear is ducks being slaughtered on the neighboring sloughs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heard what sounded like two bucks fighting but didn't see a deer. This is a new property to me and I have never seen a deer from the stand but my cameras show they are moving in daylight past it. Bad timing I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok guys, I got a new plan this week. These two pics were taken where there are oaks and pines planted and it's a pretty low spot. I think that eliminates using a ground blind. I'm working the whole weekend but I'm off m, t, wed. So I'm going to try to get in there and hang a stand. Only problem is, it's very hard to see when you get in an elevated stand in the pines because the higher you get, the thicker it is. I think I could do enough trimming but I'm afraid I might cause too much disturbance to the area. What do y'all think, is it worth it? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I think during this time of year the impact of trimming wouldn’t be as bad as early season but I also wouldn’t clear ever branch in the trees, I think if you trim conservatively but effectively you’ll be golden! Good luck! Sent from my iPod touch using Bowhunting.com Forums
35 degrees and sleeting here... was going to hunt this morning but got a phone call late last night that ruined that for me. Might hunt this evening I really have to clear my mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jim, get in there and hang a stand. Even if it is only 10 to 12 feet. As long as it is concealed and the wind is good, that's all you need. They are in there.... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I hunt a spot simular to that. 15' up and close to the edge. Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
