Ended up spooking that little fella out, oh well. I’m going to our cabin with my dad and our 2 buddies this weekend for the first hunts of the season down there, I got my buck and 2 does there last year and HOPEFULLY!!! some freak accident didn’t happen with the trail cam and I actually have a picture of deer for the first time there this year... I can’t believe the bad luck I’ve had with cameras there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I feel like such a load not hunting yet, but I’m really excited to see if it pays off. My dad hasn’t bowhunted yet this year either. He is semi-retired. I thought he would be in there everyday. He likes to squirrel hunt with his dogs. Guy loves his squirrels! Used to do a lot of squirrel hunting myself. I’m in the stand all weekend and going forward will be in deer mode finally. Introducing my cousin to bowhunting for deer this Saturday. Hoping for him to have a good experience of some young ones chasing. Maybe some sparring. Time is just getting good!!!! I’m beyond excited. 5 days straight of remodeling for a guy that usually sits at a desk. I want to sit in a tree!!!! Glad to live through others hunting here and other friends. Nothing huge shot in our area yet. Must be waiting on our farm. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here in Ohio there will be a cold front next Thursday, 39 degrees, October 26th... in my opinion..the rut will be starting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Andrew we have some rain coming in early next week hard. Then a cooling of about 10 degrees. From my experience the day the rain ends and the winds pick up we experience a quick flurry of some cruising....then it dies down a bit for a week or so. I'll be in a treestand waiting on those rains to end next week..... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Me and a buddy Just watched 7 deer walk across the field right in front of our stand we wanted to hunt today... instead we are standing in the garage drinking beer lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Aint nothing wrong with that Andrew. We all love to hunt but it can burn us all out if we do it too much. Have some fun. throw rocks at the deer
That’s why I didn’t hunt, I’ll be hunting hard Saturday and Sunday, then next week it’ll be a big cold front, and with this time of year coming up I’ll be hunting longer hours so I figured I’d let myself relax for a while Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Forecast looks good for Sunday and cooling off after that. It’s time boys!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sometimes it’s not only you that burns out, but you can burn out your stands. I’ve been patient this season with how and when I hunt. Last season it paid off big. With that said, I hunted yesterday morning. A brisk 34 degrees. Didn’t see a single deer. Perfect wind, perfect stand. I couldn’t believe it. I have 3 good stands and I have only hunted 1 of them once this year, I might try my favorite spot out this Weeknd if wind is right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Im in tight to that 8 pts bedroom. Beans to my North and my pond to my south. Hopefully he makes a mistake tonight.
Sitting tonight for the first time since I got back from Wyoming. Finally had a good wind to get in the bedroom of a buck I'm after. No movement so far though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We'll just passed on two does I really woulda liked to take. Hoping to tag this buck in this spot and didn't want to make a bunch of commotion with a doe. Already regretting the fresh backstraps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well passing the does was a smart choice my target buck came in. He was standing near a bush I had a known range for. As I touched off the arrow and my nokturnal lit up I knew in my gut it wasn't good. He must have been standing farther from the bush then I guessed. My arrow had zero blood and a ton of hair. The chase lives on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally made it back out. Watched a huge bodied deer walk across field. Lots of squirrels out today! LOL Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
