I've been trying to kill coyotes all summer during the day and at night but I haven't been able to kill any. I know I have a good real good population of them but they just won't come to my calls.

I've never went out just to hunt them. Got some getting closer to front pasture and close to barn. They keep it up and they will have a bad day. Popped one last month that was getting too close to a calf

Really have to watch wind direction/ scent coyote hunting. At least here, the yotes trust their nose more than eyes and ears. I'm more of an opportunistic coyote hunter. I get most of mine deer or turkey hunting.

Just got back from what is hopefully my last trip to LANCASTER archery. Had to get a few things to finish my hunting arrows. Talk about a madhouse. That place was packed. Going to fletch my arrows and thinking of heading to the woods to finish up checking and pruning my last 2 sets. Weather today is drizzle and overcast not so hot like the last couple days. Perfect for crawling around without sweating

I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a new trail cam. Also bought some oats to plant in a small kill plot. 50lbs of oats is cheaper than 5lb throw and grow grass seed lol. My bow is ready, need to move one ladder stand but other than that I'm just waiting for October.

You're definitely a lot more productive than me today! But that's because I'm stuck in Texas and then a trip to Mississippi, and then a trip to Colorado. And then I think that's it for traveling for me! So hopefully I'll be able to get stuff setup by the 1st of Oct because that's season opener!

I wish I could travel like that. Are you hunting in all these places? Traveling for work or pleasure?

Oh I’m so ready!!!! Sets are all ready for me to climb into and my newly stringed bow is tuned up and ready to kill. Going to a 3D shoot in morning with my bro and a couple buddies. Should be fun and good practice. From what I understand LAS has a pretty nice course set up at their club.

    Welcome to the team Happy!

Glad to hear everybody is getting squared away. I’m still way behind with stand prep and deployment not to mention shooting lanes. The last two seasons I have really struggled to get my act together until the last minute. Not the way I like to do business.
I’ve been shooting a little but I need to get out and shoot some longer range targets. Worse comes to worse I can take the X bow if needed but I think I’ll be good to go.

I would definitely shoot him!!! I very seldom see bucks like that!! I havekilled many bucks in my lifetime and none of that size. I’ve been hunting same property for maybe 30 years and it just doesn’t seem to hold the large older bucks. I see some nice ones occasionally but get just as excited over almost any buck. I hope I don’t get crucified if I post pics of a younger buck that is holding my tag!! I’m definitely not a trophy hunter.

If this is the buck that was on the latest episode that you couldn’t think of a name for I think I might have thought of one for you. Why not name him Bou
I believe you said that his brows remind you of a caribou so it suits plus you said on a post that he has kinda disappeared like a ghost so Bou also suits there. Just a thought

Unfortunately I don't get to do any hunting. I help deliver stuff with my parents, we make it a work/vacation trip. The nice thing is that I get to stop at pretty much every bass pro shop or cabelas we see!
