Got a good rain here today. Both food plots should be germinating. Should grow well. I have a good feeling a good Buck is going down this year.

More rain today. Food plots will be blowing up. Deer are practically going to be waiting in lines to get in these things.

Anybody got anything going on deer related? Kind of dead around here.

I finished putting in some oats yesterday. I have turnips, radishes, clover, oats and dwarf essex rape planted at my main property. This is my first attempt at serious food plotting, so I'm hopeful that some of the time and effort pays off.

I am planting clover and winter wheat in the next two weeks at Property #2. Bow season opened here today in NC. Temps in 90s so only evening hunting this weekend. I am hunting Property #1 first. Looking forward to the cooler temps coming next week.

Love the food plot talk. It doesn't hurt anyone's chances. Fun to plant and help deer herd also.

90 degree temps sounds crazy for deer hunting.

Good luck to those out hunting.

Went out this weekend in Dooly County, GA. This is one of a few counties in GA that has an antler restriction. Bucks must have a minimum 16" mainbeam or 15" outside spread. Seen quite a few deer and other wildlife as well. Nothing legal to shoot though, but I did see a possible shooter 100yds out. Not too bad for high temps and public land. Seen a few hogs, rattle snakes, and gators.

Do you have to check in your bucks somewhere to measure spread or mainbeam? I know around here, half the people can't judge deer very well. Just curious how that works.

Gators are also something I know nothing about. Any problem with shooting a deer and having gators go after it? Wasn't sure if they had much of a nose or not?

Not sure how they keep track. I know it would be hard to get by the DNR officers there. Seen quite a few every day I was there. I guess if a deer ran to or near the river it could become a problem. Although we did find about 40, few day old, baby gators in a mud hole about half of a mile from the river.

Neighboring properties to our land is getting sold today by auction. I'm hoping we get good neighbors and it doesn't change our place. I've hunted these properties during shotgun since I was a kid. Wish I was in a position to purchase land, but not the right timing.

We are still very fortunate to have private land to hunt which I feel puts us in the minority. One of my friends that hunts shotgun with us was very mad about it. I never understand that....it was never any of ours. We were lucky enough to hunt it for years. Have to be thankful for the things we have.

Local person got land that only hunts shotgun. Shouldn't be any problem with him. Big relief to know the person and not have questions about the person.

Probably help him with some fencing and ask about bowhunting. Something I couldn't do before. Lots of oaks in one section of property.

What else is going on out there? Food plots are good. Scouting? Hunting?

Food plots are coming up well. Pulled 3 cameras. One more video of the nice deer from before. Nothing much else to get excited about.

Deer loin from last year wrapped in bacon. Deer brats. Iowa chops and potatoes.

What's everyone seeing out there for deer? Seeing some big deer shot in Wisconsin on social media. Good luck out there today.

Work blocked BHOD so I haven't been on here in a while but I'm pumped for the upcoming season. Have some really good bucks on camera in MS.

We'll be heading to a new lease we picked up in OK for opening weekend. Pretty pumped for that. Good luck to the team

3.5 year old 10 point, unnamed as of now. Hope he makes it through but I know I'd be the only one on the lease to pass him. So he'll catch an arrow if he comes by
