Just spent the weekend at the Illinois Deer and Turkey Classic. Made me start getting the itch to get back out in the woods!

3 stands put up this weekend. Only have one trail camera hung. Other one wouldn't turn on.

1 fall food plot should be put in this week and another one by next week. Both will be for when it gets below freezing. Rape and turnips. Planted one bag last year for 1/4-1/2 acre and it was destroyed. No turnips left this spring. Turnips were huge. Planting 4 bags in two different locations this year. One of the locations will be in the middle of our 2 acres clover plot. Might be a really interesting fall.

Hoping for an early harvest for the farmers as I know they are hoping for a good fall also.

Couple more but I think they are the same deer as the first pics I posted. But still the only bucks on cam on 3 different properties!

Got a new trail cam delivered today. Spypoint solar. It has solar on top to not require a battery. I'll add batteries as back up.

Eyecon Storm camera that isn't working is in a stall. Cabelas is looking up receipt for eyecon to replace. Only problem is they are all out of stock. It will be replaced next spring. Once I get receipt I will probably ask for something to be done sooner. They offered a 30% discount on their muddy website. Doesn't do any good because of now trail cameras. The camera was bought last fall.

Need to have at least 2 cameras going at our property. Will probably get another old one up. Both will go up tomorrow and I'm setting up some mock scrapes on some old scrapes. Hoping to see some pictures from other camera.

Feels like Christmas waiting to check trail camera. Got cameras out too late but better late than never.

Missing being out west Elk hunting. Something special about those hunts and the weather, scenery and sounds.

2 food plots planted with rape and turnip. Same stuff they killed last year. Last year we planted 1 bag in one spot. This year 4 bags were planted on two different spots.

Tree stand is in last picture over new plot and clover. Should be really good once we get a freeze. The second spot is planted in the middle of a 2 acre food plot that is clover.

Found out this weekend that a guy isn't hunting neighbors anymore like he did last year. Said it takes too long to talk to the guy when he leaves. He has too many spots is what that tells me. Shouldn't hurt my hunting at all.
