I had a good morning too, but nothing big enough to shoot. Seen 4 year and a half old bucks and 3 young does. This was the first sit at the new property too.
Last night was really good too. 3 8 pointers. 4 bucks total. 3 were chasing does. The biggest came past me perfectly. Could have shot him. Probably 125+\-. Forgot to say yesterday morning while checking cameras I had 2 young does walk to 15 yards of me while I froze in middle of crp. Crp had been cut. They kept checking me out and coming towards me. oh man! I think our team is primed to put down some bucks over next 10 days! slow weekend for me. neighbors were hunting and screwed it all up. they walk a half mile down our line fence to hunt and bump all the deer in the process. slows it down alot. oh well. the big boys will be getting on there feet soon! I can't wait!
Had a good and bad morning. At 9:00 one of the young bucks showed up. Right behind him was a shooter. A nice 4 year old 8 with a sticker off his G2. Came into 25 yards. Took my shot and didn't see the tiny limb 5 yards in front of him. Shot my arrow straight down. He bounded off about 20 yards and slowly eased off. big warm up here tomorrow, so I took a doe tonight. Spined her. first time I have ever had that happen. should be good hunting towards weeks end here
Had another awesome morning. No shooter, but it sure was an exciting sit. Had a young 7 point come in around 8:30. He was working my way when he stopped to horn a little sapling. As he is doing this, I noticed another young 4 point about 200yds away on a ridge. He noticed the other buck and came right in to him. They met at a scrape that just showed up in the last 24hrs and it's only 20yds from my stand. They both took turns working it and then proceeded to spar. I've never had a chance to witness this in all my years of hunting. Little after they left I had a flock of turkey work through. About 6 hens and 4 toms in full strut. Hey guys! No hunting this week for me. My 2 yr son choaked on laffytaffy Tuesday afternoon. It aspirated into lungs and they rushed him to a children's hospital. They operated and removed the obstruction. He was sedated andon the ventilator for 26 hours after. They wokehimup andtook ventilator out. He is now breathing on his own and cuddling his momma. Been a scary week. But God is good, it didn't look good at first. Super thankful dad here! Good luck to you guys in the field this weekend
Glad he is ok. As a father of a small child and an EMT I hate to see when little ones have troubles! Glad he is doing better!
Also I am officially filled out for this contest. Shot a button buck earlier today. So that will be my 50 and then I'll get my buck scored and on there as well!
Thought it was going to happen for me tonight. Had a nice 9pt come in to 35 yards but never had a shot. I'll be back at it again in the morning.
