Yea I live for this man! Def sick for it! There is nothing like waterfowl hunting....period! And that's coming from a true bowhunter, deer loving freak, haha! But they certainly are two different breeds of hunting! Went out last Saturday and it was a slow blue bird day, but we managed 4 Brant, a Hen Green Wing Teal, and I was able to call one Honker away from his flock of about 20. Should have had at least a couple Pintails since we were sitting there talking and all of sudden I hear the infamous whistle, I look up and about 15 feet above the water at like 25 yards out 4 Pintails fly by, I was so disgusted! Saw lot of black ducks that we couldn't get to commit, one finally did but idk what happened... def hit him but he fluttered and just kept flying. Missed out on more geese also, realistically should have had at least 4 rather than the one. I know one of them I smacked pretty good, feathers flew all over the place out of him, but he also kept flying like nothing happened afterwards. I'm going to blame it to the #2 shot I was using. It's my go to when I'm not strictly goose hunting (depending on the spot I'm hunting its usually 3' or 3 1/2" #2's, otherwise it's 3 1/2" BB's for geese.
I usually use #2 3 inch for ducks and BB 3 inch just for geese. I had a left over box of 1s from jump shooting snows last year so I've been using those here lately. A buddy and I used 1s on a little pond of teal and it smacked em Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

I slept in this morning and went scouting at noon. Found a couple hundred Canada's on a gravel bar. Had to work tonight so I couldn't scout tonight but my buddy called and said there was well over 200 in a field and more pouring in. Hey guys, sorry I have been out the loop for awhile. The Christmas break was crazy. I got my daughter for 2 weeks and Christmas day. We had a great Christmas. Cadance got a 20ga so we tried it out but no luck. I'm out in a blind now trying for a doe or 2 to fill the freezer. We got until the 7th before season is over. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Awesome Junior, congrats!!! I would love to go out to the deer woods again and try to poke a doe, but unfortunately I have been completely consumed with waterfowl hunting. Leave for Jamaica tomorrow morning (if my flight doesn't get canceled, may have to switch it to later tonight with this snow storm moving in on us) so I'm outta this cold for 5 days!
