Thank you. And yea, its not all that bad just the nose really bothers me. Each taxidermist has their own artistic style in my opinion. So I guess I'm use to the one I have always used. He just looks different compared to the others. This is the nose work done by the taxidermist I actually use. The difference is substantial and in my opinion make the mount so much more realistic looking. As for the hide and where it seems to be missing the hair on the left armpit I will continue to try to comb it and manipulate the hair best I can, just don't want to handle it too much since it was shedding so badly last night. I used a little hair gel and hairspray to fix most of the imperfections so you cant tell too much after it was on the wall. But I think I'm going to pull it down next weekend and bring it to have the nose done the way I actually like it.
I'll try to take a pic of the left armpit when I get home form work later to better show what I meant lol All the rest of the imperfections I kept combing with a little water and like I said, little hair gel and hair spray goes a long way on a deer mount haha
Very nice buck. I understand being pissed if not what you paid/asked for. It's kinda like when you build something. Others think it looks great and you just see all the mistakes Roll Tide Roll
Well buck never came back out. I just got home. Got to get projects done. We going down to Alabama Thurs for the weekend. Taking camper and have to finish rewiring the lights Roll Tide Roll
If can finish most of stuff I'm going to try and slip back in. If not I'm planning on going it the morning Roll Tide Roll
i found the article i remember reading about barometric pressure effects on deer https://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/big-buck-zone/2011/10/how-barometric-pressure-affects-deer
And to follow up... best place to see a line graph of pressure is to go to www.weatherunderground.com, go to your location, then select 10 day forecast. You will see a black line on the graph to represent barometric pressure Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well i did indeed mess up bad on beam length. Had my buck scored by someone that knows what they are doing. Not sure what to do as they have already updated the score card. That would give us 8+ more points. This is the new score. I had the beam measurement at 18 1/2 originally as i measured from the inside lol not even close.
I know it isn't my big buck but wanted to show off my kill this afternoon! Been after her since this summer she went a little over 350 lbs! 27 yrd shot broadside perfect hit went about 40 yrds...
