For those of you that messed up on score you are not alone. I measured my beam length on inside not outside so he should be bigger than 151 5/8s.

Sweet. Get it updated, lol. Nice deer for sure. Unfortunately WI is a 1 buck state so I will be going for a doe next weekend. We don’t have the need for 2 deer in the freezer so I have a few friends that are wanting a deer.

Had my 10 coming to me. Was about 60 yds out. Got a gas well on the property and guy came to check it and buck took off in the woods. Been about 45 mins since guy left. Hopefully he will come back around

Ours comes in on the 18th too. Sounded like a war zone this weekend. I guess everybody's trying to sight in

    Congrats Kenny, great buck!

I can't seem to see any older shooter bucks! It's starting to get frustrating! Passed on 3 young bucks yesterday, something has to give soon! I hope!

Ok the buck came back out to the east and went behind me. I tried grunting to turn him. He stopped then just kept walking. He didn't seem to be in rush or wind me. Should I just set it out and see if he comes back or try and grunt some more? He didn't really respond to grunt before. They haven't been chasing here yet but bucks have been roaming a lot

Some times they act like they dont care but will circle back around from downwind to investigate. I would sit tight & not grunt any more but im no expert

Yea I wouldn't grunt too much, if he didn't respond to me personally after my initial grunt sequence I would have snort wheezed at him at that point. Hang tight though, seems like he is cruising so hopefully hell come back through! Good luck!

I picked up my buck from last year last night after having a huge argument with the taxidermist. It's actually driving me crazy! The whole situation is just horrible and I now blame myself. I shot him last year on a Sunday at last light. By the time I found him and got him out of the woods it was late and I had work the next day. So I asked my buddy to do me a huge favor and drop him off at the taxidermist for me......well, he dropped him off at a taxidermist I would have never used to begin with. He had used him a good amount in the past, but I personally did not like his work. Well I picked him up about 2 and half months ago and I hated the way he did the nose (it was a smooth nose and that looks extremely fake, I am a fan of the nose that has bumps on it making it very realistic, it's just my personal preference). I told him to fix it after expressing how unhappy I was. Well no word from him since and its been a long time now so I stopped in last night. NOTHING was done to fix what I ask and I lost it. I will now bring it to someone else to have the nose fixed and get a better idea if anything else can be done to fix the hide a little bit. The left arm pit doesn't look good and the hair is all messed up and you can see the actual hide through it when looking closely and I feel the hide was not tanned correctly. It was shedding a lot of hair last night when I was handling it, which never happens with any of my other mounts. He has two ducks of mine as well for over a year now and hasn't even started them, so I told him to forget it and give me money back. After him apologizing to me he took off a heck of a lot of money off the ducks so i decided to keep them with him to finish. His feather work is a hell of a lot better than his big game mounts that's for sure. Sorry to rant but I'm just a little upset about it all. I know I am very meticulous with my mounts (probably even a pain in the a** about them), but I should be shouldn't I? Especially after paying $500 for it and putting all the work and effort into the hunt and being successful.

Here he is on the wall....it's not a complete disaster, just in my opinion is sub par compared to my other mounts. The hide doesn't look good next to my others and the shiny/glossy smooth nose is all I look at when immediately looking up at him.

First off, nice buck! Second i think its ok to complain if its not what you wanted. You are paying for a service & we all know that taxidermy work is not cheap. This mount will be on your wall, in your house & all you are going to notice is the flaws that bother you. Honestly looking at the pictures, i cant tell anything is up with it other than the shiny nose....it does appear even in the pics to be extremely shiny
