When we were picking corn we jumped a lot. 1 big field (123 acres) we jumped 23 deer bedded down. Beans not really no action. Seen a huge 12 point best I could tell in one field

That has to be neat to watch as long as none of them are getting "speared"!

Never happened to me but Mark did get one with combine but it was already dead. Some shot and didn't recover. Did a lot of damage.

Yeah we're a long ways from done. Only about 10% of tillage is done, need to make about 100 corn stalk bales, wean calves, fence; the list goes on and on.

On average, maybe 2. All it is is farmland around here so there's no reason for them to hang out in the corn once we start combining. Second to last field there was 9. Now pheasants, rabbits and raccoons is a different story. Always a ton.

That's odd. We usually see a lot. But we have a lot of woods mixed in and around fields. We do see tons of rabbits and pheasents also

I've had a good couple days, but nothing yet. Saturday was a heck of a day, passed 4 bucks, one was a borderline shooter and could be a stud if he makes it another year or two. Wish I got a pick of him, but was trying not to move he was 45 yards away and just about downwind of me and I wasn't trying to risk it. He was standing there lip curling and trying to get my sent. He turned around and went the other way so for all I know he winded me eventually. Saw 3 more smaller bucks all little baskets. Saw maybe 15 or more does and yealrings that day also. That night I went out with a buddy and we drove by one of our new spots and wouldn't you know it there was a 150-160 inch slammer in the front field with a doe. we sat there in the truck and watched him for about 15 mins until the doe got outta there and he followed close on her tail, dogging her! He is now all I can think of it's killing me. Yesterday rained really badly with winds up to 35 MPH so didn't hunt and today cleared up but still high winds in the 20's. Went to where I saw that stud and only saw 2 does, one of which was hauling tail so I was hoping he wasn't too far behind her, but no dice. Will be back out it again tomorrow. So torn, don't know what to do here I wanna just put all my time in and hunt that one buck, but have another spot that I hunted Saturday that usually produces for me, but haven't seen anything there this year anywhere near as big as the one from Saturday night!

Today is awesome day to be in the woods, but it's my wife's birthday. I earning all the brownie points I can before the rut starts. I'm off work this Friday so if weather works out going to try and get back at it for 3 day weekend. Forcast has rain most of the week and back into 60s this weekend. Gun season starts the 18th so I know they will be more on edge.

No dice yesterday. Saw a couple does and yearlings and a small basket buck. Pretty sure one of the same bucks from my Saturday hunt. He was behind me in a field with a doe and I grunted at him, he came in on a string after circling to put the wind in his favor and hitting a scrape 45 yards from my set, he was grunting the whole way in to 15 yards, was def really really cool...just wish it was his father! haha

Back to reality today unfortunately, def struggling and wishing I was in a tree! Have a wedding on Saturday, so can't get out until next Sunday. But hopeful the next couple weeks will really heat up...Positive vibes!

4 bucks, 2 does and 1 fawn all before 830. Nothing since.

Home now for breakfast, warm up and a regroup and head back out. Wind is switching so I'm headed to a new stand. [IMG]

Well, the other half is now claiming my stand, which is ok because we only have about 4 does we have seen on camera regularly for 80 acres so really dont want to take any breeding does out of that area...so now im outcasted to the last minute 40 parcel we picked up super late. Just hung another set up which i was going to use for rifle but maybe a little recon in the area will be useful! Lol

Good stuff, Travis! Good luck! I struggled with the wind yesterday big time, it kept changing constantly through out the course of the day...and it was blowing at a good 16 MPH! So frustrating!

Junior, little recon with the chance of some "bonus" meat is never a bad thing

Sure leave it up to the fat guy, lol. Burrito wraps and A1 are my down fall. They go great with everything. I guess I'm just a weirdo, crazy for a fat guy but I don't like sweets. Mostly meat and potatoes guy

Well was crazy day at work. Super busy. Just walked in the door going to shower and head out. It's been raining off and on all day but seen 7 deer on 10 min ride home. Only 2 were together the rest by themselves. So if they are moving I guess I'm going to get wet, lol. Should have put my blind up last week
