I worked at the old gander Mountain when I was in high school. I actually live about 2 miles from there right now. Where about are you (Junior)?

Beautiful buck. Doubt I’ll see one like that here on our crowded public lands.

I hunted public land for a very long time and know exactly what you mean. Usually hunting public land means shooting the first brown you see if you see anything at all. Thats how my hunting started for about the first 15-20 years!

50mph winds here today. Highs in the low 40s for a stretch and 70% chance of snow on Friday.

I love the ag industry but man it's kind of depressing sitting in the tractor or scouting fields when I should be hunting!

Interesting sit this evening... had a spike come out into the plot extremely nervous & after about 15 minutes, ran off without a flagged tail. Interesting but what ever, its windy. Well i figured it out.....a sow with 2 cubs came into the plot with about 45 minutes of hunting time left....needless to say the deer hunt was pretty much over at that point. I took some awesome video and was cool with everything until the sow tried to wind me & was getting waaaaayyyyy to close to my tree. I called the other half & told him to drive his a$$ down to my stand like right now & i wasnt even joking. Needless to say i was a little excited at that point as the sow was about 10 feet from my tree. Turns out that talking on the phone was enough to startle the bears away....whew!

Well team, the number of vehicle versus deer crashes are steadily increasing in central Wisconsin! That only means the best is coming!! This weekend should be a Dandy for hunting as long as the Bears don't come!

This guy came through about 8 a.m. to 8:30 yesterday morning. I don't believe I've had this guy on camera since early August when he was still in velvet[IMG]

Yea that'll get the heart pumping....first bear I ever shot was about 5 years ago up in VT. Damn thing climbed the ladder stand I was in and was smelling my boot! My heart was racing out of my chest! I had my bow in my left hand and my hand on my .357 S&W that was on my hip! Casually climbed back down like a human and presented a 9 yard broadside shot. A hunt I will never forget! Such curious animals.

I was pretty excited...my first time dealing with a sow & kids in tow! Was trying to figure how to startle her off without being percieved as a threat to the cubs & getting my butt [or other appendages] handed to me!

I'm back this evening. So far nothing but got time. Pulled card before I got up. My big 10 was about 15 yards under my stand Friday morning. Got 2 other small bucks I haven't seen before. Looks like cooler weather's got them moving good. Got 4 different bucks in daylight
