I have already inspected my harness and used it to hang some stands. I wear it everytime I am in a tree.

great to hear you guys say you wear safety harnesses. It's just silly not to. No getting out in the woods for me this weekend. Parents are coming to town and they aren't much of the hunting type. No bid deal though still got some time left to get er' done and love me some family time!

 

Ill be out sat sun and mon checking cams and doing other misc stuff around the farm. Ohhhh and by the way.............

Well checked camera and wasn't what I was hoping for no real shooters on camera. Was able to sight my bow in with my broadheads and was happy that my sight didnt need to be moved at all. I'm all ready for the season. Gonna do some goose hunting Sunday and hanging with the family and watching football.

 

Sucks not getting any pictures but dont worry still early! Good luck goose hunting. I love duck hunting but havent gone after geese yet unless they come into my duck decoys. Want to find a field and give it a try one day though!

Guys,
I had a great week! Scored 130 acres of additional private land to hunt!!!! With a nice food plot! 40 acres of oak and hickory woods with a 15 acre fully mature pine woods. The remaining crop fields are alll soy beans baby!! I scouted it today and set out 3 trail cams... 1 on a nice point/funnel, 1 in the food plot and other on some acorns on bean field edge. Let me tell ya i have never been so pumped for gaining new access before. Hope the cams produce... The neighbors have some really thick marsh by me so looks like the deer have everything they need.

Oh... And i checked cams on my main property this A.M and i got 1 pic of a Beast!! Little disappointed because the cams ran for 2 weeks and the big buck pic I have was the first pic... And then everything after that is blacked out because a damn spider made its nest of the lense. Grrrrrrr. I will upload pic when I get back.

Awesome Darin, cant wait to here how it goes for you this season! I pulled a cam this morning,was dissapointed just small bucks and Does!

The 1st pic is the slob I got yesterday on the cam..(im very pumped - looks like he's got some good weight on him too) 1 pic of him and the rest black pics from the spider nest.. maybe ill call him spider? lol
I had to crop the 2nd pic to get a good zoom on the group of bucks.. Wouldn't mind seeing any of them walk by this year

Then last 2 are from a buddies lease that we hunt together on... thought id share those 2 bucks. The pics were taken in late July and the cams have been soaking since.

Well I have some good news and some bad news!!

Good: all fall food plots are in and getting rain as we speak

Bad: found a nice 8pt dead in the creek, would have been a nice buck in a year or two

 

That sucks to hear Austin. Hope this EHD is not as bad this year. Last year was bad enough and I don't know how the deer population around me will handle another round like last year.
