Glad to see you on here. Good luck with your 450 acres. Sounds like a great place to hunt.

One of the other guys PMed me so only one guy left. Hopefully we will hear from him soon so we have a full team.

I took Britty out with me hunting tonight. We snuck into a spot where I had found some big fresh tracks a week ago. We barely got setup when a bedded buck got up not 15 yards from us and busted out of there. We got a little too close. Dammit !!!! LOL I knew I was pushing it but wasn't expecting him to be there. I am amazed he stayed bedded while we were setting up. We had been there almost 5 minutes and he was down wind of us. I didn't get a good look as he jumped right into the cattails and took off. We setup in some pretty thick stuff along side the cattails. Otherwise a pretty quiet night.

Not yet on any big bucks. Would have loved to get a better look at the one that busted us.

It been pretty quiet. The deer haven't been moving much except when I am working. Britty is gonna get tired of going out with me when we can't even see a doe.

Your season better hurry up and get here before all your big bucks are run over !! Just sayin...

Hopefully you get some more pictures of the big buck you posted earlier in the thread. Would like to see him out of velvet to see how big he finished out at. He looked very good !!

2 more days until the opener and the high is gonna be 62 degrees with an East wind. Low around 46. Coldest day of the week. Great timing if you ask me. Not too many stands hung for an east wind but that's what I love about my climber.

Well our opener was yesterday snd the weather couldn't have been better. Set up on a draw between a corn field and a soybean field. Had three doe and a bachelor group of four 1.5-2.5 bucks all come in ten yards. Should've took a doe but I was in camp with some friends from college that I haven't seen in a while. Wanted to shot the bull with them.

Well Guys  not happy today. I went and swapped cards at that 16 acres I just got and I shove it in my camera and it says cards full. I was like "YES :woot:" then start flippin through pictures they are all family pictures camping and birthday pictures. Don't get me wrong, I love strolling down memory lane but damn I wasn't expecting birthday cakes and campfires. So maybe I can be honorary captain bonehead this week. :)

I'll be in the stand in the morning and at the casino tomorrow night at the craps table, hopefully my luck changes a little.

My son was goose hunting by the pond in my gravel pit. Out comes 2 snap basket racks and a grand daddy. Jake said way wider than ears and a tall boy also. Looks like a ground blind by the pond for me.

He is probably your ghost buck from last winter. Kill him before he vanishes again !!! :p

Nothing for me this weekend. Watched 7 deer walk by about 60 yards Saturday night.

Was sitting by what looked like two heavy traveled cow trails tonight. A doe had to come up behind me on a faint trail you could barely see. What are the odds of that ??? Nothing on the two heavy traveled trails. Man even the does are kicking my butt this year. It is going to be a long season at this stellar rate of hunting I've been doing.

Well guys, Im counting down. Gettin antsy. Little less than a month before season opener. I finally got my bow back. Had to get a new string and some other work done. Finally got to shoot today for the first time and in a few minutes was shooting 3 inch group at 25 yards. Not bad for first time shooting this year. I also got permission from a guy Sunday to hunt his land this season. He said he would allow me to shoot one deer on his property so I am going to wait on a good one. He has some nice ones on trail cam.
