Team 20 -- Almost Legal

Broad heads aren’t flying as good as normal (20 yard shot. I have to use my 30 pin) so bare shaft tuning my bow this week. 3 weeks til season opens so glad I always shoot broadheads plenty early

Just checking in since it's been a few day's, nothing new. Still got a month until I'm hunting. -_-

 

Getting all excited. Season opens on Saturday and I have the week off. Going to go check cameras on Wednesday and double check my stands 1 last time.

 

Still no shooters on camera. Might be hunting a few of my secondary farms without cameras on them at the beginning of season

For the 1st year in 5 I don’t have a buck I’m really going for. But here is some funky ones.

Back in service from my Colorado elk trip. Weather sucked for action. Never heard a bugle. Had a bull at 70 yards that I should have shot but was too early in the trip and he was on the smaller size. Time to concentrate on whitetails back home.

Not got to go yet, the temps have been 90+. Looking like this Friday will be the 1st day.

 

Temps will be good when I head to Wisconsin for 3 days later this week but the thunderstorms forecasted suck!!!

 

Season opens here in Arkansas on Saturday. Won't be able to hunt in the am but I will be in a tree around 4 in the afternoon. Hopefully I won't sweat to death but at least I will be hunting!

I still got till the end of the month before our season even opens.

 

Sinuses got me down. Still need to chech stands move one and put up a new one.

 

How many hunt mornings during early season?

 

I hunt when i can. Some say its bad, but last year i had a horrible season missed 6 does and 3 bucks. I broke my 5 pin and grabbed a one pin. Felt really confortable target practicing with it, but could get it done in the field. Dialed in to 30 now. Shouldnt have a problem if i get the chances i had last year.

 

I used to not hunt mornings. I have learned that is a mistake. There are places that I don't hunt in the morning because I am targeting specific deer, but I go to new spots and bedding areas that I don't normally hunt. There is too much to learn and you maximize your chances of killing deer the more time you spend in the stand.

I'm finally in a stand. Weather broke for the next couple of hours. There is a good buck and a giant coming in so hopefully 1 shows up tonight.
