2 more on Sunday, the 4 pointer is a match for the one I found earlier in the week,

For those keeping count, that would be 8 for me so far.......

    WOW!

I can see I've got some reading and admiring (lusting?) to do when I get a chance later.... some VERY cool finds up there!!

I got to walk about two miles today and turned up nada... at least my last trail camera and scrape dripper that I'd put up before Illinois' second gun season was still there waiting on me, so I consider it a very succesful day! :D

    Not a shed, but a target I guess... :)

Here was the nicest buck from the camera I recovered today after it'd been out there a couple months... I was trying the scrape dripper thing for the first time. I'll get more serious about it next year and actually begin conditioning a scrape well ahead of the season's start.

Who needs to find sheds when you got something like that lurking around your woods, and 'after' the seasons are done, wow, best of luck to you and finding that guy this coming season!!!!

I tell ya; I'd LOVE to find that left side (if not both, of course) because of that unique little kicker off it... would be nice to match it up with a photo.

And even nicer to take him next year. :D

This shed season has started much like every other.... I have 10 hours in and no sheds. I have found one crossbow bolt, 3 dead deer and one buck skull.

Seems I never start finding sheds until late Feb early March but I cannot help but get out and look early.

    The buck.

Went out shedding on my property today, with 2 inches of fresh snow made it hard. I didn't find any after 5 hours. I did find where a good buck was hanging out,his track was amost as big as my hand. I hit it hard when I get back from vacation next week

We've got our national sales meeting all next week with my medical sales company... when I get back from that I'm going to try to start looking at least a couple hours at least twice a week or so...

A whole weekend shot for me, ice and a steady diet of ibuprofen, maybe my knee will feel better for next weekend.......or I keep pushing it and try to work it better? logic like that makes my wife so happy.......

I saw four bucks at my feeder last night all still had both side, one is a 120-130 class ten point.Yet the two feet of snow keeps the searches short.

Worked out better to go out this afternoon... found my first shed of the season. :)

Went to one of my better buck bedding areas and it didn't take long... right at the edge of the thicket leading out to a field, the snow was still about four inches deep in the shade of the overhanging trees. I took a step out towards the field and felt something rock underfoot... I KNEW it was an antler by the way it rocked on a curve -- just felt like the curvature of a main beam, though I'd never stepped on one before ... but a bowhunter just KNOWS, ya know? ;) :)

Looked another three hours and didn't find anything until I was 50 yards from my vehicle... found half of a an old head and rack wedged in a tree about waist height. It was bleached white and had some squirrel chew marks in it. It was in a REALLY thick thicket of saplings; it's quite possible he died like that and it was too thick for him to fall over. I left it to come back to the SUV and get my camera since I was so close only to discover my wife must have taken the SD card out. I went ahead and left, as I know right where it is and I want to take a pic of it hanging in the tree like that.

Pics of my shed to come later when I get home... It's probably 1/2 of what would amount to a 90-inch 8-pointer.

    - edit to add pic...

Weather is getting warm here (well if you think 30 degrees is warm) got a doc appointment tomorrow, hopefully he will say my knee is good so I can get out and wander again.....2 whole weeks of sitting on my hinder, driving me nuts.....

Nice find Greg, been close a few times for stepping on one, but still have yet to roll one on my boot.

Coolest find of my infant shed-hunting career so far... he was a stud. Haven't put a tape to him, but I'm guessing 130 or so as an 8-pointer just due to width, plus he holds his mass really well all throughout. Nice brows and incredible G2s on both sides...

A little better view after we picked him up...

Went back and took a pic of the other skull hanging in the tree I found last time, too.... left it there as it's chewed up pretty badly. Long spike on one side... classic Rob buck.

Anyone got any ideas how to get the green mold off the skull of our 8-pointer?

Congrat's on the finds. I hope to get out here soon. With the vacation and all the snow we got I haven't been able to go but maybe this weekend I'll take the dog and my daughter out.

Well guys i have put alot of hours and miles on so far this year i do have some really good finds that im keeping quiet till the end. Also i have been lucky enough to find areas that are holding some really nice deer if this darn snow would melt we could get after them again. we just got another 7" this week and its snowing again now. I wish you all the best of luck this shed season there out there we just gotta find them before the squirrels do................
