This season has just been a drag. Have yet to see a mature buck on its feet. I hunted all day Monday and Tuesday. Passed a button buck Monday, and two small eights yesterday. I saw absolutely zero does. Not sure where they are. I'll get back out Friday evening and Saturday.

I'd love to but Illinois charges way too much for out of state residents.

I have played poker with your taxidermist. I would think that you could play two or three nights of poker over winter against him and have the deer and bear paid for. I have played against him, he cannot play cards, trust me on that.

How's the hunting been fellas? I'll most likely be out to fill some doe tags before the end of the WI season yet.

If it doesn't warm up, I probably won't be out again. I would like to get a doe with the bow but I am not gonna freeze in this for one

been too damn cold out to hunt. the state wide 4 day doe-only hunt starts this thur so that screws bowhunting up. I'll try to get out next week. I'm curious to see if anything is moving thru the snow on the property I hunt since the fields have been disc'd over. (no food source).

    How's everyone else?

that is an impressive wound. we'll that's great. some more points on the board. not lookin good here. I was out gun hunting and didn't see a single deer. plenty of tracks in the snow but not even a tail flashing in the woods. I'll try with a bow this week. good luck to anyone else still in the game.

Was out last weekend for my last archery hunt of the season....maybe. We have the holiday hunt (rifle) that started on the 24th so I am not sure if I want to head in to bow hunt only to push deer to rifle hunters. Not all the time but you bump them once in a while.

On Saturday I have 10+ deer out feeding with four bucks. One nice 10pt, a couple of 2.5's and a 1.5 The 2.5's were sparing the whole time. The 10 was feeding towards me and I was thinking.....here we go, crummy 1st season and with all the hard work it is finally going to pay off. He was about 40 yards away and I was waiting for him to clear some pine branches then I hear a "super Genius" spout off...they all came to full alert then it let out another.........GONE! My season to a T.....oh well. Sunday was 8 deer with two small bucks. Have about 11 days left.
