    Holy smokes! Get better Bob!

In contests past, I've exchanged cell numbers with teammates and had a lot of fun with it, being able to give updates from the stand and whatnot. If anyone is interested (obviously no obligation) I'd be willing to swap digits. Just send me a PM if you don't want it posted for everyone to see

Well, another weekend in the books, and still no doe down. I did have a pretty cool hunt this evening though. Saw a nice 3.5 who looks to be offspring of the buck I shot last year with the gun. Same high rack, good mass, and big split brows. The buck I shot last year was named Zeus, so it only seemed fitting to name this guy Perseus. Hoping to get some more pics of him and get them posted

    Take care of yourself Bob!

I hunted Saturday evening and saw 12. 4 ssmaller bucks and the rest does and fawns. Could have shot about 6 of them, but I'm not ready to shoot a doe yet. My nephew sat in the stand I saw Nixon in last Saturday and had him do the exact same thing as the week prior. He heard him for an hour before he popped out at 35 yards for a few seconds and then moved back into the brush. Man, I know where he lives but its almost impossible to get any closer. Not to mention, I don't have much free time to get to the cabin and hunt.

Sounds like some close calls but no luck. Bob get better......do not push it.

The elk hunt was a blast but one of the hardest hunts I ever had. Straight up and down everywhere....not much for flat meadows. Was in elk about every day but either too small or no shot ops. Biggest was a 6x6+. Found a back pack at about 11,500 in the dark timber that had been there for about a year or two. Found 5 knives, range finder, GPS, rope and some other stuff. No name and the GPS is junk from water getting in it. Dude must of though he was going to skin out about ten animals. LOL

Will be out this weekend but looks warm.

Wow Dean that a boy! way to put some points up on the board. Now you did take 2 pictures with the bow, right? congrats again! I'm assuming that was in wisconsin? in your area?
My cell phone is 262-903-4297. If you text me, be sure to put you user name & real name on the beginning of the text so I don't think your a solicitor or you'll be deleted.
Good luck to everyone that is able to get out. I can't till maybe next week. Life is absolutely crazy for me so far working 3 jobs. Leaves little time for he hobby.
Beside I had a crappy weekend. My gto gave me a hassle while going to a car show in Pontiac Ill, so I had to turn back on Sat. On Sun got a speeding ticket courtesy of the Ill state troopers, that'll set me back a bit. I'm really lookin forward to my week long bow hunt the last week of Oct up north. I can smell bacon, eggs, potatoes cookin in a cast Iron skillet over a wood fire! All cooked in bacon grease! man it don't get no better than that!

what to do? I got a decent 10 ptr with a split brow tine, maybe 110-115, 2 1/2 y.o. don't know bout other deer out there but I've got him coming in mornings & evening under my stand. It would be the biggest buck I've shot with a bow (if presented to me). so do I try to take him or wait to see if something bigger shows up?
Dean pm your address so I can get that knife to you. thnx.

Only you can say what a trophy is to you. If it makes you happy, by all means put an arrow in him :)

congrats on the buck, Dean. Way to set the bar. Hung 3 more stands yesterday and trail cameras. Weather doesnt look too promising for opener here, but I may venture out.

(In da woods)My gto gave me a hassle while going to a car show in Pontiac Ill, so I had to turn back on Sat.

That stinks, We went down to Pontiac for dinner and caught the end of the show. Some real nice stuff there. Had dinner at Bernardis (the food is fantastic).
