Had a tall spike come into the plot at 6. Fed on acorns until dark about 90 yards out. Can’t wait for colder weather Image1633220811.224612.jpg

Back out for just the morning. Have my sons soccer games this afternoon and it’s supposed to rain anyway.
In a stand that rarely used never had much luck out of, probably should have moved it this summer but never did. The spot I wanted to sit been getting pictures all morning and didn’t think I could get in with out bumping deer and didn’t see the sense in that so early on in the season. I had some good pictures of big bear about 100 yards from this stand during the summer and one last week…who knows where he can show up.

Everything ready, headed out in the morning for my first sit! Son and I shot today to make sure we were still dialed in. Looking good, ready to hopefully put some points on the board!

First south wind today of the new season.

Going to one of my “go to” spots this afternoon.

Going out in the morning for a sit in fringe stand, should be a good cross wind. Have a feeling I will see something.

Hope you guys are having success! I'll start hunting hard the 4th weekend of October unless a big front comes in. I also have a about a week off of work the end of October/first week of November. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

I struck out this morning, one small buck with a doe at like 15 yards ….

Hung a new stand this afternoon in spot I have shooter on cam twice, he seems to be coming through in the evening. It will hunt good with some type of westerly wind, which is hard direction to set up for on this property, so it gives me some option.
I only got it about 14 feet up in hemlock, so I have some decent cover. Still in a holding pattern here till I start getting some daylight pictures. I am not even sure I have shooter buck on any of these three properties.

I am out tonight. Sitting is spot that has a bunch of big white oaks. Up till like three days ago I was getting like 30 pictures a day just to my east. Then it shut down completely. There are still plenty of acorns ..not sure what’s up.
Killed a pretty nice buck out of here last year on oct 23, well nice for around here anyway. Tricky stand though as it needs an east wind or better yet south east wind

Nothing good, a doe and two fawns. Pretty uneventful. That’s my early season. No more sits till the last week of oct unless something changes

Been out several times this past week. Plenty of deer but no shooters. Probably won’t be back out until Thursday but hopefully will get in multiple hunts over the weekend.
