    Checking in.

I am from the Panhandle of Texas. I am early 60’s and hunt quite a bit over a 100 +/- day bow season. I am what I self label as an “opportunistic” hunter in that i am self employed, and if I can break away for an hour long hunt in the afternoon or 1st thing in the morning, I do it. Frequently.

I hunt private land on three different properties. The family farm, and two other properties, one approximately 15 miles to the south and the other approximately 15 miles to the east. I am usually good (but not always) for a respectable buck but will probably be (based on history) no better than somewhere in the 125-140 range.

My main hunting companions are my nephew and his best friend, who are both in their mid 30’s, so they keep me young at heart. They live several hours away from the hunting properties and have young families, so they don’t get to hunt as much as myself but they usually find ways to get their time in. We keep all our properties “bow only” with the exception of when we have a child hunting.

I am looking forward to following you all and hope we all have a fun, safe, and successful season. Based on geography of the members checked in so far, it looks promising (at least on paper) to make a decent showing as a team. Good luck everyone.

Hey Everyone! I’m Alec, 26 years old and from Minnesota. I generally hunt my hometown in SE MN and spend a lot of time on our family farm in western Wisconsin. All of our plots are in and looking well, and so far some decent bucks on camera. Excited to see what the season has in store for us!

Well it appears that we all mostly hunt private land with a little bit of public thrown in. Maybe we can revolve our team name around that?

    “Gated Community Hunters”
    “The Big Buck HOA”
    “Whitetail Drive”

I am good for whatever team name we come up with! Here is the buck I am after, the biggest one I have so far and haven't had a night time picture of him all summer! CORK SCREW.jpg CORK SCREW 2.jpg

How about name of Dead End and a road sign team picture saying:
    Dead End
    Private Property
Just throwing it out there, very easy.

    I nominate Simon/OH team captain.

Nah...but I do like hanging out with the forum brothers/friends I talk to the most. I'll no doubt swing back through again! Good luck fellas, I got you pegged as second or third.

Simon has my vote for Captain.
Some pretty good team names so far, I’d be happy with any of them.

Just a few names that popped into my head that were “2” related

    2nd to None
    Double drop tines
    2 little 2 late :)

I don’t mind doing the captain gig if nobody else wants it, I’ve been captain many times in the past so if someone ever wanted to try it feel free, I will have plenty of time to keep up with the forums.

Caleb, thanks for agreeing to be captain! Just looked up your You Tube channel. Nice! You just picked up a new subscriber! Like the vibe of just everyday hunters doing what they love, not just celebrities in a tree! Can't wait to view more.
