I got out of work a little late this morning I had planned on hunting till about 930 but decided to stay all day. Got a picture of a good buck at 130 yesterday coming though here and the wind is perfect for this stand. I am a little unprepared though… definitely could use another layer, didn’t bring any food or anything to drink…and didn’t charge my phone or carry a spare battery. Four hours down, 6 more hours to go. I can stand too loose a few pounds so I am looking at the upside.
Seen two deer so far, little buck and an unknown deer..:

I’ve been pretty bad at picking stands this week.

My latest video. Another goes live tonight at 5. Has multiple encounters with my #2 buck and I get into some aggressive calling sequences. It’s been a fun season!

Been a long morning so far. I was debating between two stands and chose safer one with the wind forecast and gettin in clean. They are only 150 yards apart.
Got in about 20 minutes later I got a picture from the cam near Stand that I didn’t go to. He would have about 25 yards from me. That sucked big time, in real time no less [IMG]

Just had a nine point come by pushing a doe and fawn. I couldn’t get him to stop for as shot. I been on the fence about that buck all season on it I should kill him if given the chance. Still not sure what I was going to do if he stopped. [IMG]

Good luck everyone. I am sitting from 8-2 today, switching things up. I have never killed an mature buck at midday, in fact I don’t remember ever seeing one from a stand a midday…. I can’t count the number of all day sits I pulled and been predominantly uneventful.
    Who knows

I wasn't able to close the deal on a doe up north last weekend. The peak of the rut seems to be hitting now. Last weekend we saw a mixed bag of bucks chasing does but still mostly little guys. Yesterday I saw a monster buck with his nose to the ground moving quickly on trail while driving into work. Cameras have been busy but only caught a couple decent bucks so far. I'm headed to Vegas for a football weekend, will likely sit a few times the next few weeks but will depend on weather and what we are seeing for movement. Good luck out there, stay safe!

Still a lot of season left gents. I’ve been hunting on and off, taking my nephew who has never shot a deer. He’s passed on numerous small bucks and several does, waiting for the one that gets his adrenaline going. I’m confident I’ll be putting another 50 points on the board before to long. Enjoy Thanksgiving with your families and good luck out in the woods.

Got some work cut out for me today. Need to get them in the freezer before I leave to go Loin hunt. Going having thanksgiving with the family tomorrow and leaving flying out Friday morning.
Everything about this season is screwy since I don’t draw a KS tag. I sure missed bowhunting down there this year, and I really missed not being In NY for the first week of our regular season. I hate NYs regular season.
In any event I am pretty much all tagged out till I hunt CT around Christmas time. [IMG]
