Went back to the food plot tonight and had 2 mature bucks come out, I let them pass though. I feel something magical is going to happen this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hunted Thursday ( raining all day long ) I had a nice buck chasing a does around my try stand. He is not a shooter but he grunted very loud. Yesterday I had 2 bucks come at 15 yards and 30 yards but they are around 140 inches, not my target bucks. Late after I move to food lot. 5:30 pm I saw a heavy rack buck ( 160- 170 inches ) head my direction at 60 yards. I thought grab my bow at that time but I had other thought just relax let he come then grab bow when he turn. Then a does ran front of him smell me at 10 yards , buck at 30 yards. I was freezing. A does looked at me at turn other direction . I grab my bow, too late a does look back and ran away. My big mistake. I will off Wednesday 3 and Sunday November 6 ( if my wife does upset ( Church time) ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This video I recorded on Thursday late afternoon. The loudest grunted buck I have ever heard https://youtube.com/shorts/khuBl_Q-_j0?feature=share Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Made it out yesterday and this morning. Had a good sit yesterday, saw decent numbers but no shooters close. Should get 3-4 sits in this week. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well I came close on a nice 3.5 year old 10 yesterday, as he came into some bleats. Unfortunately for me, a group of chickadees decided to fly all at the same time as he was starting to walk into my lane which spooked him and off he ran. My mini rutcation is over, but it was quite entertaining! My boys were out in the blind with me to see a nice buck walk right in front of us, I saw a deer on pretty much every sit and had shot opportunities on a couple nice 2.5 year olds, a few small buck, and a couple small doe. I always call it a successful season if I had chances to shoot deer if I needed meat. Season isn’t over yet, but it’ll be a couple weeks before I can get back out there.
Sorry I’ve been absent, had a death in the immediate family. I’m still here, just been popping in now and then to see what’s going on. I’m off next week so plan on hunting hard for about 9 days straight. Need some tree stand therapy. Good luck to all.
Sorry guys, haven't been too active lately. But some things are more important than deer hunting. My 92 year old mother is having some health problems and is at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn. I'm here with her. Will be back and hunting when I can. Let me read about some of your stories and kills! Go get em guys! Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That’s the worst man, real life is so much more important than an Internet forum deer contest, hope everyone is doing well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
More bad news, take care of your family sir and don’t worry about us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m getting caught up on the hunting videos. Still about a week behind. Here’s my latest, some pre rut chasing activity in my food plot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My cell cams have been going off like crazy today and yesterday. For sure two shooters in daylight, sneaking over this afternoon and then hunting pretty much all the way through to Sunday. Crossing my fingers to have a good update in a few days!!
Looks like things are starting to heat up all over. Good luck out there! I'm stuck at work today, I'll hunt tomorrow afternoon and might sneak out behind my house Friday morning before work. Ended up with some drama on my buddy's property. The land owner apparently gave permission to a couple other guys to hunt. After a bit of an uncomfortable discussion I think we are on the right track but this might explain why we aren't seeing the numbers and quality that we were expecting this year.
This guy walked by my stand at 9am ish. Seen two other bucks in bow range. Still trying to catch up to on of two shooters I have on/ near this property
Seen this guy twice early morning and once crossing a driveway at dark after I got out of the stand …hopefully I catch him in the next week or so. I am very sure I know where he beds with a north or west wind, it tried to get permission but was shot down. Now I am stuck hunting the east side of doe bedding area hoping he cruises though. I need a good cross wind to try this again, going to have to almost get busted to get a shot at this buck.
This big boys were on their feet last week. Had a great hunt in my foodplot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
