I will have to take a pic of mine when I get off. Had to get it adjusted from my string stretching and added some poundage to it for huntin now that tournaments are done for the year. Just got it back from my bow guy yesterday and it's lookin great! If I'm not in the woods with my bow I'm in the box with my 30-06 or 270. But majority of the time bow is in hand! The rush of a deer at 20 or 30 yards knowing you gotta draw and stick it can't be beat in my opinion. Love the long distant rifle shots though. Shot 2 doe at 270 yards last year with my 30-06. That was awesome but they didn't come close to seeing and shooting this guy at 27 yards from 25 feet up!

I'll be back up in the stand in a couple hours (first time since last saturday) and will post mine then! Bowtech Allegiance 31.5" DL and 65 lbs. It fits me perfectly and still shoots great.

That's awesome! If only Elk counted towards our team score.

On a side note, went back out tonight and saw the largest bodied deer I've ever seen. Came within 60 yards of my stand and went straight into the corn. It was such a rush I'm still excited. We have a big 8 point that's about a 130 class (which is big for my area) that we have on trail came. Couldn't tell if it was him or a new player. We shall see...

Forgot to say congrats on the DIY part of that kill. That would be the truest trophy for me (along with the huge shoulder mount on the wall)

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I had to put the fact that it was a DIY because the past 2 years I took a lot of b/s from people that did not know me when I had some success on our farm killing big deer. 2010-10-29-3.jpg 2011.11.24.jpg

Good luck to everyone. I woke up this morning to go sit for early doe and it was raining, so i'm unpacking and going tonight. got my fingers crossed to start off the season running

    Alex,
Nice job on the doe - But even bigger congrats on the ELK!!! Any elk with a bow is well earned...
I just got back from my 3rd DIY elk hunt...still looking for my first kill. Hunting was great this year (and I missed a shot so that is my fault)...but also had another awesome encounter with huge bull at 45 yards (no open shot) in the snow...and saw a couple other good bulls...bugling 4 out of the 5 days. My buddy did connect with a calf on the last day so still got the thrill of packing out meat and putting some on the grill. Above all - shared the hunt/camp with my Dad this year...just a great week of hunting. Should have some story and pics to post in coming days.

Good to be back...season opens next week which sounds crazy as I've been in full elk mode since spring...looking forward to some relaxing hunts in a treestand soon.

Keep the updates coming - and who's going to get the next points on the board?

    Good Luck All!
