Looks like we need some updates from the rest of team...anyone heard from the other via PM or otherwise?

Had a great weekend with my wife, we ran our first Marathon and crossed the finish together in 4:46...all I can say is Kansas City has got some hills! Great experience.

Should finally get a serious hunt in the weekend...and then start finding some more time as we roll into Nov...last flag football game to coach tomorrow which will help open up schedule some.

Good Luck to all - it's about time to get some more harvest photos on this thread!

Nice job on the run, BZ. It's pretty cool that your wife enjoys some of the things you do for fun. I've been pretty busy working overtime and my other jobs. I got out once last week for a couple of hours. There was light rain and some fog. Stalked around for a good two hours in the area that I saw that buck and doe the week prior; however, no sign of them or anything else. Nothing in those woods was moving except the one red squirrel that was mad because I sat near his tree. I didn't see a sign saying it was his. :) Anyways, my buddy and I are trying to go out this coming Friday. Next few days are going to be rather warm and rainy but, Friday the temp drops to 45 degrees. Hopefully, the deer will be moving.

As far as other team members, I have not heard from a couple of them. If we don't hear anything by the end of this week, I'll PM them to see if they're still around. Might be too late in the season to swap out, anyhow.

Well, Temp is dropping about 30 degrees this weekend starting friday, I can not WAIT! Have stayed away from the mock scrape I put up over the weekend to really let them come in undisturbed. Goin to check pictures tomorrow morning before work and then be out friday afternoon to sunday evening!

Nice elk, OldKY! Glad you were able to harvest one and I'm rather jealous. Hope everyone's upcoming hunt will be safe and successful. I'm off tomorrow so I will definitely be in the woods in a stand. Can't wait! :moose:

I might hunt Sat morning, but have to pick up my daughter by 5, so it would be a morning hunt only. Might not be a bad idea, though, as it will give me a chance to get in there and pull the memory card from my trail cam. Haven't been in the woods since I took the doe on 10/5, so I'm curious to see what's been past the cam. I've been wanting to get the ladder stand set up and trim some shooting lanes near where I found the doe since I found so many scrapes and rubs, but the beans still hadn't been harvested as of last night. However, the equipment was parked over there, so hopefully the farmer got in today to take the beans out of the field. That way I can get in and get that ladder stand set up so the deer will at least be used to it being there by the end of my time off work. I don't have a ton of options with the climbing stand, as most trees in the area are too big or not straight enough for the climber. Not to mention all of the honeysuckle bush that's in the way of good shooting lanes. Even if I don't get to the spot with all the rubs and scrapes, I know where it is and will get in early next year to set up shooting lanes!

Finally got to use my stand today. Man, it was nice out today. Kind of windy but really nice. Didn't see anything but I enjoyed the three hours in the tree.

Gear is all set, got all my dad's gear setup for him too, he is going to be going out tomorrow morning as well, I will be setting up in my climber, he will be about 60 yards away in the 2 seater ladder stand. Things are shaping up to look incredible for the next week here weather wise! Checked one of my cams, random monster gnarly buck at 440am, so hopefully he will be up and moving tomorrow morning!! Good luck and hunt safe to all those going out this weekend!!

Tomorrow is the start of two weeks off work. :D I need to get to bed. Seems like this is standard for me after not hunting for awhile. After 20+ years hunting, I still get excited and can't go to sleep when I should the night before! Hoping I drop a big one in the upcoming two weeks!!

    Good Luck Captain!
I went Sat morning...very little action - saw one buck running through woods at 8:00am, then crazy fawn running around about 9:00...both at 50+ yards...moon is very bright right now at night which typically means reduced morning action for me (afternoon hunts don't work well with my schedule).

Should get out a couple times this coming weekend...action just about to heat up.

    Stay at it team!

Sorry haven't been on much just been busy at work. Gotten several hunts in. Nothing close enough or big enough yet. Gonna work hard at it this week though. Didn't get to go yesterday afternoon but the deer were really moving. Windy all day today but suppose to slack off this afternoon so hopefully they were all bedded down today and will move when I get in the stand. Y'all wish me luck!

Well, my fiance surprised me yesterday afternoon and showed up to spend the night, which is great since we are in different states while she is in grad school. Got to spend some extra time with her, had a great evening and great morning together before she left, went and checked the trail camera this afternoon...foreboding feeling......7:11am this guy was checking out my mock scrape 10 yards from where my stand is set up. PICT0331.jpg

I am thinking by the end of the week the rut will be in full swing around here, so today was a great day with a minor frustration haha. I called to tell my fiance about the buck, and she immediately said she was really sorry, I told her I wasn't mad because I got to spend time with her, I just jokingly told her next time I would let her sleep in while I go hunt then come back in mid-morning haha.
