Youth weekend kept me out of the woods, used it to spend some quality family time at home. I’ll be on the road back to Illinois Friday for the weekend; rain Thursday and temps drop to high 20s low 30s with highs of mid 50s. I want to hold for a buck but I’m ready to fill both of my Illinois tags.
I have a couple spots picked out for the weekend, going in kind of deep and sitting dawn to dusk.

Bad news....after a couple hundreds yards of tracking through thick stuff I found the arrow. Thr broadhead was the only thing missing. I knew i hit him high and forward but thought it looked like enough penetration. I was wrong. After 5 1/2 hours of searching and I feel confident he’ll be sore for a few days but will survive.
Makes me sick that i made a bad shot though.

Here he is guys, posted the full story in LFTS thread. Guys I am so stocked, can’t believe how fast it happened!! Having trouble getting the pictures off my buddies phone but I got him to send me one! Will get the tape on him later this week, with this deer being in Maryland and me living in PA I couldn’t bring him over the border, had to take him to the butcher down there and will pick up the skull to get a euro done! Awesome. That’s quite the accomplishment. How did it go other than the terrible weather?

Well at one point we ran through 6 inches of running water. I just wanted to finish and that’s what I did.
My feet were raw by the end and have a huge blister on bottom of foot

Not sure how many people out of the 30000 even finished

That is awesome! I'm a runner as well but haven't tackled a marathon. Great accomplishment!

Leaving here the 8th. Hunting southeastern Ohio on a semi guided hunt 9-15. All private land. Place is called Wolf Creek Whitetails of Ohio. I’m going along with some friends who have been there before. Anyone know if them or the area?

I haven't seen any chasing here in N.GA. I did get this pic on a mock scrape I made on public. Buck in the background then he came and worked the scrape. IMG_20191026_200655_629.jpg
