In the stand ready to rock. Forgot my face mask that I always wear. Knew I'd forget something. Hoping this cold front wi get them moving. Will take a doe if I can.

Thanks man. Feels good to be back in the stand. Forgot how uncomfortable this tree is.

That trail cam photo won me this. Pic is now the cover on trophy rock website. Buck I killed last year is the bigger one but he shed velvet on August 26. I wanted him in velvet.

    Hey boys,

Hunted the same spot last night, different tree. For a heavily hunted public land spot this area is dynamite. Every parking lot is full but for whatever reason no one knows about this one and theres never another car here. Set up in this clearing for of oaks. Constantly acorns raining down. Had 6 does come in directly under me. You know how it goes, always a set of eyes on me when I went to draw and ended up moving into thick brush before I could get a shot. Had 4 more deer come in but they were either spikes or 4 points. All of the headed in the same direction and paused to feed about 60 yards in front of me ( right under my second choice for a tree to climb, go figure). So I have a new game plan for this spot. Felt to limited in a climber so I invested in a nice run and gun set up with a hang on and sticks. Should give me more versatility. Practiced today and I can go from on the ground to sitting in my stand in just about 5 minutes. So needless to say I'm excited to get back out. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my best days to hunt besides weekends. Only have one class and Its an hour so I can sit morning or afternoon. Gonna be back out hopefully Tuesday

I saw a good number of deer this weekend. Handful of doe and a little fork horn. Passed on a tiny doe about at about 15 yds. Just too small, was probably a fawn that had already lost its spots. Thinking of trying to get out after work Tuesday for the last few hours. Don't really like hunting night during the work week though.

My opening day is Saturday but it will be Monday before I make it out. Bummer but such is life and it’s responsibilities. Luckily, I should be able to hunt several afternoons next week.

I am taking my 9 year old, Hunter, out for youth season this weekend. He won’t shoot anything but a buck and he wants a pretty big one after the toad he killed last season so we shall see what happens.
Bow season starts Monday for me and I am going to try my best to stay out of the woods until end of October. I probably will hunt Monday evening just to get my fix and to shoot a doe but then I will stay out mostly.

No I haven't yet its currently at the bug place I'm getting an European mount done...I'll get it back under a month so I'll score it then! I'm guessing around 110 or so!
