Well I got in the woods around 3 tonight. At 4:30 a mature doe and 2 smaller ones came over a hill and passed the trail I came in on and got spooked. Went back the way they came for about 50 yards turned and came back. This time 3 more mature does and a fawn came over the hill with them. I waited for the last mature doe to get into range. As I drew back one of the other does busted me, blew and took off like a bat out of hell. The doe I drew on didn't hang around long enough to get a shot off. At 5:10 a lone mature doe came by, but was out around 50 yards and got a free pass. At 5:25 a big body 10pt came in, nose down following the trail the second group of does took. Stopped him perfectly quartering away, 35 yards, released my arrow. Watch the lighted nock sail right over his back. Clean miss. Night over. Try again this weekend.
That sucks! Better than a wounded deer but doesn’t make you feel any better at the moment. I’ve been there, done that! Get him next time!
Arrow stuck in base of tree behind buck and I ended up breaking the arrow and left broadhead in the tree.
How’s everyone’s season going? My time has been very limited lately. We’ve had our house for sale for months and finally got an offer. If the deal goes through we close on Jan. 4th. We are trying to find a house, not much luck so far but it’s cutting into my hunting time. Good luck!
Well I haven’t been on here in a long time. I managed to go at full draw on 150 inch 10 Puerner, and forgot that I had my reading glasses on. 12 yard broad side shot, and the arrow hits at the dears feet LOL. I had no idea that reading glasses would throw it off that bad. That was actually for us additional Kentucky buck at A military reservation which is an extra buck tag. I did manage to kill another buck with the boom stick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
