Sorry to just be vacant guys, lots going on in the world. I haven't had a chance to get out at home, but going out this weekend to finalize stand locations, then let them rest for a few weeks. In the meantime, big Kansas trip coming up the first of November and unless i"m just completely unlucky, should be a couple of shot opportunities on some really fine looking whitetails. Good luck to all.

Hey guys, I went out this morning and saw nada... just a bunch of squirrels. It's tough huntin with temps in the mid 80's.
Anyway, I did find out some VERY interesting news. The land owner caught me on my way out today and told me that a "well dressed, well spoken man, in his mid 40's" knocked on the door last night. The guy expained that he was a professional trophy deer hunter and that he was hunting a buck a few properties to the south, which continues to head up my land owner's gas line to bed somewhere. He showed my buddy (who knows nothing about hunting) some trail cam pics of the deer, and asked if he had seen that particular deer. He then went into his speach about how he would love the opportunity to hunt this property, for filming purposes. My buddy politely told him no and informed the guy that he only allows my family and I to hunt.
Anyway, I found out who the guy is. He's part of the Lone Wolf crew and his claim to fame is that he only hunts 200"+ bucks.... Cams going up tomorrow :tu:

Nothing Matt didn't even see a deer there's an average of 1 buck per square mile up there so Stand huntings not an option I was always on the move still hunting swamps and such the coyotes are devastating up there so after a day of nothing with the bow I grabbed my .308 and tried yo get a couple coyotes bit I only heard em I will be back the weekend after this weekend for opening day of gun season see if I can get a nice buck up there last year a guy ahot a palmated drop time 21 pointer that was 10.5 years old on te same mountain I hunt so there there if you can get on em. Good luck in Kansas Kelly you must be pumped. I set up in my favorite spot last night in my blind to see if I could get a die but I gut busted by one upwind I thought it was a squirrel or turkey so I moved abruptley and she busted me at 15 yards she had to have blown 100 times if I set up in the other spot I was gonna I would have probably got a shot but now I know how tree moving there and it was loaded with deer so I can wait till Sunday!

Just got back from a hunt. Seen 6 does, a 6 point, and a 130" ten point. 10 point and 6 point were both 40 yards away. No shots. Going back out tonight.

Sorry I have not posted in a while been busy at work and taking care of the little ones. I have been out a handfull of time and have managed to fill my Pa tag early. On my third evening hunt I was able to take a nice 105" 8 pt. Not much of a trophy but he will be good eating. Im not going to post a pic because I still have my Oh tag and Im on a few hammers. It almost cam together last night in the wind storm. About 5:50 as I was trying to keep my eyes open on what had been a very boaring day in the tree I noticed a deer moving from right to left angling up the hill away from me. I soon realized that it was indeed a big shooter buck. It only took a few seconds to notice it was my target buck I have been watching all summer. He is a main frame ten with a double brow on the left and a few stickers on his bases and I put him right around 157"-160". I rose to my feet grabbed the bow and prepared for the shot. As he approached my shooting lane something caught my eye between me and the stud. It was another buck that I have been watching all summer a nice 130" class wide ten. I immediately turned my attension back to the big boy and I missed my opportunity for he had passed through my lane and heading out of range. In desperation I tried grunting, bleating, rattling, and snort weezing at him which I got no response due to the loud howling winds. The only possitive thing that came out of the story is I thing I finally put together where this guy has been bedding and what he is eating. I got to watch him for about 15 mins gorge himself on a bumper crop of beech nuts that I had overlooked somehow. If all goes well next weekend there is a good chance I will get another crack at him before he becomes rut crazed.

Congrats on the PA buck! Good luck on that big boy! That sucks you didnt get a shot.

Also, per contest rules you have to enter the first buck you get even if its in different states. So get that bad boy entered.:tu:
