I was sleeping and he woke me up as he walked along the left of me and behind me. He walked right into a huge opening at 19 yards and I shot him. My arrow hit off a limb that was right in front of him but still put a good shot on him.

Hey everyone, Happy Thanksgiving. I filled my missouri rifle tag. So now I have my iowa youth tag and 2 doe tags. My dad also got his iowa bow buck. Mine scored 111 2/8(1/4). I'll post pics for ya to see later.

Ok here's a little update to this story 2 months later.....

My cousin shot a deer this evening, soon as I saw the pics I thought no way.....well I went up to his house, went straight and rolled the deer over.....sure enough it was the one I had shot. I had hit him low in the brisket, everything had healed up, with a pretty neat scar. I was so excited for my cousin, and we will always have a pretty neat story with that deer, especially since it's going on his wall.

I was so releaved to know that deer wasn't rotting in some thicket somewhere!

    Congrats IowaBow and liwhitetail!

My season was absolutely horrible. By late December I was without hunting land.

One I lost due to a death of the landowner and daughters fighting over the land. And my second and closest one was lost when the farmer kicked the guy out who rented there and decided to do oil drilling.

I'm not sure if I'll have a next season yet or not.

Congrats to everyone who got deer this year. It sucks I wasnt able to add points to the team and I wish everyone luck on future hunting success.
