Ty, what was the neighbors reasoning for taking your deer? Was it on private property?

He says that he didnt see a blood trail and didnt want the deer to go to waste. But I dont know how he missed the blood trail. It was a messed up deal. I know the kids dad pretty well. Most of his story didnt match up with what happened. He told me he found it at 4:00pm but I didnt shoot it until 5:30. And he also said that he was out in the morning to get it. But I was there at daybreak and it had already been gutted. This kid has a history of story telling. I was just glad to recover the deer.
And yes it was private property. The kids dad owns about 30 acres next to me.

Well guys sorry I've not been posting too much but I haven't had the greatest season. Actually I'm now going on 2 seasons worth of bad luck. I shot a doe about 9 days ago and she stepped forward when I released the arrow on a 40 yard shot. Hit her in the ass and lost blood pretty quickly with my broadhead stuck inside her.

I have not been seeing a lot of deer but I'm off this week and I think my 1 property is getting good. I sat down there this morning and had a nice 10 pointer come in. Shot him at 19 yards and I think my arrow hit a very small limb that was right in front of him and sent my arrow slightly low. I tracked him for about 300 yards into some thick tall grass. I will be checking it tomorrow to see if he expired in there.

When I was coming out in my truck I spotted the giant that I got on one of my cameras last year. He was 20 yards from my truck in the neighbors woods. I drove past him and got out with my video camera and walked back down the road and actually filmed him while he just stared at me about 40 yards away. I was so pumped to see him because I figured last year that he was just cruising through and was from who-knows how far away. Extremely excited to see him in the area.

I'm off this whole week so I will be out tomorrow morning and night along with Thursday and Friday. Wish me luck with finding my deer and getting a shot at that giant.

And congrats to everyone else who has gotten the job done already this year.

I found my buck. He was a little smaller than I thought. But when he woke me up and I looked down to see antlers, I guess he looked pretty good. Anyway, just glad I found him. I'll post pictures soon and get him scored today hopefully. I didn't go out this morning but I'm going to head out this afternoon.

Slllloooowwww.....to say the least. Im at our farm in Ga now, i dont know what the deal is. I walked quite a bit yesterday evening and this morning, and am seeing some travel sign but thats about it. Its big woods hunting in the mountains so its not the easiest hunting in the world. Anybody want to offer a flat(er) land hunt? haha
