Hey all! Update: Was out all weekend and seen alot of nothing. Lots of scrapes and rub starting to pop up but all seems to be night time activity according to my cameras. I did see a couple of does today but didnt want to take one. I will wait to take a doe until late season. I have a couple of days off this week so I will be in the woods. My buddy is coming up from Kenosha area and we are planning on having a three day hard hunt. I will let you all know how it goes. good luck to all! Ty
Hey team, the monster roaming my woods was killed last Monday morning. I hunted that evening and arrowed this buck. He's not huge, by any means... but I was impressed with the split brows and the body size! He's a mature, main frame 8 with a brow split 3 ways, and the other with a kicker. Looks like I might get 11 scorable points. Sorry for the delay in posting, but it's been a crazy-busy couple of weeks at work... end of summer madness, I suppose. Good luck to everyone! Things are starting to heat up!! I'll add the points up and score it tomorrow.... and I'll also be adding a doe, when a get a chance to get back out!
Here's the beast that was killed Monday morning... the neighbor to my hunting property agreed to the terms of "$500 cash if I kill this buck".... best $500 he's EVER spent, no?? lol.. The heart-breaker: his stand is less than 200 yards from my stand ...but congrats to him! He's a great guy and didn't mind sharing some knowledge. He has also been hunting that buck for 3 solid years, eating tag soup all the while. The buck green-scored 234 and change, before deductions. Way to go Tim!
congrats Josh I would shoot that buck in a heart beat way to go! You only allowed to take one buck there? and that one your buddy shot is an absolute monster... damn
Yep Dieter, Ohio is a 1 buck state... and Tim's buck is an absolute beast! I saw him once, about 4 years ago. I figured he was either dead or left the county, but I guess not lol... but props to him. He worked really hard for that big boy.
I've never hunted whitetails anywhere but OH, but then again, I've never filled my buck tag in mid-Oct. lol.. I scored him today and came up with 103... I would have guessed it a little higher, but I'll take it. Should be adding another 50 to the board in a couple weeks
haha gotcha congrats again! I will be hunting all day tomorrow gonna see if i cant get a doe down finally and break the ice before the rut kicks in
shot a doe last night at last light looked like a perfect shot she ran off and stopped and started twitching her tail a ton. I climbed down and got my arrow no blood.... okay i thought i missed her but it had hair fat and meat on it so i think i shot just below the spine a little too far up grid searched for 2 hours with 3 people and not a drop of blood... will be back out soon for another chance. i gottem patterned out pretty nice now

haha yeah hes in that same patch of woods he's nice not too many deer like that around here looks like a midwest buck haha. yeah i think i had a flesh wound she's probably eatin right now gotta redeem myself
