I killed a doe during rifle season too and my son killed two. We have plenty of meat now.

Im still out there bow hunting for a doe, but mostly just to film and pattern a few late season bucks for my husband since he still hasnt gotten his buck this season and to pattern some for next season.
Im really hoping to lay my eyes on and film my #1 target buck for this season I call Smokey. I dont know if he is still around since I havnt seen him this year
He is my season up until Dec 8th, I filmed almost all of this free hand since I tore that tendon in my calf I have been trying to reduce the amount of weight I carry in and out of the woods so I ditched the camera arm this season since I hunt 100% from my climber. and the calf tendon is almost all healed.

That buck rubbing on the last of the footage was on Dec 8th , who would of thought he would be rubbing so late in the season. Once he was done rubbing I grunted him in just for fun and to film him again.

Still here but haven't been out since before gun seasons. Trying to leave my place as a safe spot. Going to head out in the morning if the wind is right. Still have at least 2 140 plus deer running game around but mostly at night. Still have a few active scrapes so you never know.
Been the slowest hunting season for me since I started 20 years ago. Might be my first time eating tag soup :bigcry:

well I could here the deer coming out thru the woods into the field but they decided to cross the field and walk along a tree line where I HAD my blind set up! arrrrgghhh! don't that figure. here I hunt near a food source and they head out right where I had a blind set up. DANG!
I'll try again after Christmas some time next week.

Anyone else still hunting? good luck if you are.

I was in the stand yesterday evening. Saw a big doe and four yearlings. They walked on the wrong side of the tree line. There was one twig blocking my shot. Taking my pole saw next time. That limb has been in the way more than once this season.

This rain has been horrible the past couple of days. I'm glad that now the weather is finally going to turn to be more like winter weather, or a semblance of it anyways. I'm taking my recurve to our cabin to try and get a doe later this week. I will also be trapping on the property, so hopefully I will have some animals that I can give a ride home. I would really like to thin out a few coyotes, but I'll take whatever I happen to get.

The only plus side to all the rain was it kept most of the gun hunters out of the woods during Arkansas Christmas hunt which closes today. Planning to be in my stand January 1st.

well we are having one heck of a storm today and is supposed to go till tomorrow (tues) morning 6am. I'm gonna try to get out a couple of times this week but Sun is the closer and I'm dropping off my kids to fly off to college so with new year's this weekend it's going to be slim pickins for hunting.
Good luck to anyone else hunting. It should be good tomorrow night.

Well team. I'm finally out in a stand over soybeans. Looks like a highway w/all the hoof ptints in the snow. Perfect night out.
