My sits for last 3 days...............spike, fork, spike, 7 pointer not in range, spike, fork. If I see one more spike or fork buck and I am going to puke). Had some honey-do chores to accomplish this morning, will not make it out to stand until about noon today.

    Goodluck and be safe folks.

Dang it. Well thought all that shooting would scare away the deer. Well I scared a 10pt r when I left my blind @ 11am. He was coming towards blind when I was approaching a fence they cross.

dang it! I had 3 small does come out into the field by me this morning and ended up making a terrible shot on one of them at 35yrds. I'm not sure what happened. Either I really pulled on the trigger or my cam touched the top of my blind. But I ended hitting it high in rump. The weird thing was that the arrow was sticking straight up as though I had shot her from a tree stand but I'm in a ground blind. I am pissed at myself for such a bad shot. I haven't missed like that in about 20yrs. There wasn't much blood where I shot her and almost all of the arrow was out bouncing around. I think she circled back onto the neighbor's property then back on to mine in the woods to the south of me. I heard a deer blowing several times in the woods with the other 2 does that remained in the field. They looked like 1 yr olds and couldn't figure out what happened to the other doe. I think it might have been her. The other does then looked to the east on the neighbor's property and then took off in that direction. Well that will end my early bow season as the farmer was discing up the field where my blind was. Which means any soybeans on the ground are now buried. Hence no deer feeding and my knee still can't take uneven ground.
Man thought I'd at least add 50 pts to the team.:rant:

Saw one of my target bucks Saturday evening, could not get him to come the last 40 yards I needed. To my surprise he was not cruising, scent checking or anything rut related that I could tell. Two doe bedded on hillside and he walked within 20 yards of them and never bothered to check them out, just kept heading for the field. He looked as if he was on his normal "heading to the Field to get my evening dinner walk".

    Next hunt is Friday

    Be safe

    Dave
